Larry was born on January 16, 1956; he was the dear son of Thelma (Thompson) Cooper and the late Paul Cooper of Sarasota, FL, formerly of Woburn, MA. Larry was raised and educated in Woburn and was a graduate of Woburn High School.
Larry enlisted in the United States Navy on April 29, 1975 and was trained in several firefighting courses. He served aboard the USS Bowen as a HTFR (Hull Training Firefighter Reserve); serving overseas for a couple of years. Larry was honorably discharged from active duty in May of 1979 and went on to serve in the Naval Reserves until 1981.
Besides his mother, Larry is survived by his children Steven Cooper and Nicole Cooper both of Sarasota, FL, his siblings Richard Cooper & wife Kate of Westford, MA, Janet Bates & husband Gerald of Wilmington, MA, Marcia Singleton & husband David of Austin TX, and Pamela Manaton & husband Cary of Clayton, NC. Larry is also survived by his former spouse Marsha Haberman Cooper of Sarasota, FL, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Saturday, January 21st for Visitation from 1:00-3:00 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service concluding with Military Honors at 3:00 p.m.
