Lipp, Albert W.

Albert W. Lipp, age 91, of Tewksbury, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, June 16, 2011.

Born on October 6, 1919, in Boston, Albert was the beloved son of William and Veronica (Dukas) Lipp. The family moved to Wilmington in 1930 from South Boston. Albert spent many years working on the family farm where they raised cattle, pigs and chickens. In 1947, Albert bought a house in Tewksbury where he raised his two children and remained until his passing. He worked for Harriman’s Tannery as well as Friend’s “Beans” Farm.

Albert was a quiet man who enjoyed spending time outside. He loved to tend to his garden and to his animals, goats and pigs especially. Most of all, he loved his family. His children and grandchildren where the most important things to Albert. He would enjoy all of their gatherings and celebrations. He will truly be missed.

Albert was the beloved father of Carol Roane and her husband John of Sarasota, FL and William A. Lipp and his long-time companion Lisa Nocco of Tewksbury, loving “Grandpa” of Christopher Roane of Tampa, FL, Timothy Roane of Venice, FL, William Lipp of Tewksbury, Dawn (Lipp) Vosbury and her husband Mark of Dracut, and great-grandchildren Dylan Roane, Dawson and Carter Vosburg, cherished son of the late William and Veronica (Dukas) Lipp, dear brother of Paul Lipp of East Ryegate, VT, the late Benny Lipp, Joseph, Lipp, and Edward Lipp, Albert was a special cousin of the late Wally Cibulski of Billerica and the late John “Curly” Dukas of Wilmington.

Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Wednesday, June 22nd from 4-8 p.m. Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, June 23rd at 11:00 a.m. in the family lot at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Albert’s name may be made to Merrimack Valley VNA and Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Building #9, Lawrence, MA 01843-1740.
