Louise C. Peterson

Louise C. Peterson, age 82, of Wilmington, formerly a long-time resident of Reading, died peacefully at home on March 14, 2013.

Louise was born in Reading, MA, on November 13, 1930, she was the cherished daughter of the late Evart and Persis (Ainsley) Peterson.  Louise was raised and educated in Reading and a graduate of Reading High School.  She moved with her sisters to Wilmington in 1996 to be closer to other family members.

Louise was a woman of great faith, she was a member of the Old South United Methodist Church in Reading for more than 50 years, where she taught Sunday School, and was active in the Grange and a long-time member of the Rebekah’s.

Prior to retiring, Louise worked at United Technology Company in Peabody for many years.

In her spare time, Louise loved to garden, she raised Persian cats, and was a member of the Boston Cat Club.

Family was everything to Louise, she was born into a large and loving family whom she cherished.  Louise loved taking care of her family, she was always the peacemaker, gentle and kind.  Louise loved being involved with the nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, sharing all of their family holidays, celebrations, milestones and accomplishments throughout the years.  Louise was very proud of each and every member of her family and she will be sorely missed by all.

Louise was the dear sister of Doris Peterson of Wilmington, Constance Chepulis of North Reading, Charles Peterson and his wife Shirley of Wilmington, the late Ruth Kenson, Edith Peterson, Laverne Peterson, June Nickerson, Phyllis Peterson, Raymond Henderson, and Spencer Henderson.  Louise was the loving aunt of many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and is further survived by many good friends at the Winchester Oncology Center.

Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Service in the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Monday, March 18th at 12:30 p.m.  Interment to follow in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.  Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 17th from 1-4 p.m.  Memorial donations in Louise’s name may be made to the Old South United Methodist Church, 6 Salem Street, Reading, MA 01867.
