Malone-Deegan, Marie Rose

Marie Rose (Brisbois) Deegan-Malone, age 94, of Wilmington, died peacefully on July 18, 2011, at the Winchester Hospital.

Marie was born in Cambridge, MA, on June 2, 1917, she was the cherished daughter of the late Louis and Marie (Walsh) Brisbois, she grew up in Somerville and was educated there.

Marie moved to Wilmington in 1952, making the community her “home” for almost sixty years and enjoying the many Memorial Day Parades and Fourth of July Celebrations from her front yard where she entertained a crowd of relatives and friends. Marie was a lot of fun to be with and she enjoyed a good time, she had a great sense of humor and was very sassy. Marie loved to be with her family, she enjoyed many family holidays, vacations, and celebrations, she also loved to “hang out” with her sisters, they were affectionately referred to as the “Golden Girls”. Marie also enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid gardener.

Marie will be fondly remembered as kind and caring to everyone, she was a very stylish and classy lady who will be greatly missed.

Marie was the beloved mother of Joseph B. Deegan & his companion Madaline Lavine of Wilmington, David A. Malone & his late wife Ingrid of Wilmington, the late Marie Deegan Martin, and Dana Paul Malone, loving grandmother of Joseph B. Deegan III, Trevor Deegan, Glenn Martin, Rose Martin, Laura Martin, the late Sean Deegan, as well as several great grandchildren, cherished daughter of the late Louis and Marie (Walsh) Brisbois, dear sister of John Brisbois of Lexington, June Scurini of Stoneham, and Louise Kelly of Lowell, Marie is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Service on Thursday, July 21st at 11:00 a.m. in the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington. Interment to follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting hours Wednesday, July 20th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.
