Marian M. Seim

Marian M Seim, 88, of Skinner Lake, IN, formerly of Wilmington, MA and Maryland, died August 14, 2017 in Sacred Heart Home in Avilla, IN.

She was born October 3, 1928 in Enfield, CT to Dana King and Thomasine McCloy (Rook) Miller.

Marian was a graduate of the New England Deaconess Hospital for Nursing. She also earned an Associate degree in education. Her primary role in life was raising her eight children. She was a member of St Matthew Presbyterian Church in Silver Spring, MD. Marian was also very passionate and involved with DAR and Colonial Dames; holding a variety of offices. She enjoyed traveling, fishing, and gardening.

Surviving is her brother Mike (Sue) Miller, St. Marco Island, FL and also her sons; Dana J. (Elisa) Thibeau, Gaithersburg, MD and Patrick (Deborah) Thibeau, Lanham, MD. Marian’s daughters; Marian (Nancy) Thibeau, Albion, IN; Pauline (Ken) Cook, Laurel, MD; Susan Thibeau, Burns, TN; Mary (Tom) Gurlacz, Upper Marlboro, MD; and Claire (Richard) Sites, Jupiter, FL. In addition are her seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Harold Smith and their two sons Dana K. Smith and Wayne S. Smith. Also preceding her in death was her second husband; Patrick A. Thibeau and husband Lowell E. Seim.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Saturday, August 26th for Visitation from 10:30-11:30 a.m. immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. David Smith officiating. Interment will take place in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington, MA.
