Marilyn MacIver Lord

Marilyn MacIver Lord, age 91, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at her daughter Joyce’s home in New Hampshire on April 23, 2019 surrounded by her children.

Marilyn was born on October 6, 1927 in Charleston, ME; she was the cherished daughter of the late Charles H. and Elsie (Hamm) Trask and dear sister of Charles Trask of Charleston, ME. Marilyn grew up in Charleston and graduated high school from the Higgins Classical Institute.

Following graduation, Marilyn went to the Farmington State Teachers College, which is now the University of Maine. During college, Marilyn worked at the Rangley Lakes summer camp, where she met Maurice MacIver.

The couple later married and moved to Boston where she was an active participant at Old South Church for many years. In 1960, Marilyn and Maurice settled in Wilmington, where they raised their five children; Martha, John, Joyce, Sally, & Robert.

Marilyn worked as a waitress for many years; a job she really enjoyed. She loved to meet new people and looked forward to waiting on her regular customers.
In 1983, Marilyn married Kenneth Lord; the couple moved to Florida, where Marilyn started her final career with Century 21. She was a great real estate agent and truly loved to help people find their “dream home”.

In 2000, Marilyn and Ken returned to be with family. Upon Ken’s death, she lived with both her daughter, Martha & husband, Gene, in Plaistow, NH and then with her son, Bobby, and his wife, Sandy. Sandy cared for Marilyn as if she were her own mother; Marilyn adored Sandy.

In her spare time, Marilyn enjoyed gardening, sewing, hosting holidays and entertaining her family at her swimming pool which her son, John, had built. She loved the Red Sox and looked forward to watching games with her family and friends.

Marilyn was the beloved wife of the late Maurice MacIver and Kenneth Lord, devoted mother of Martha Anthony & her husband Gene of Salem, NH, the late John MacIver who predeceased her in 2002, Joyce Currier & Gary Bienefeld, Sally MacIver all of Derry, NH, Robert MacIver & his wife Sandy of Wilmington, loving “Nana” of Mark Anthony & Tracy, Keri Crepeau & Tim, John Jeremy MacIver & Abigail, Casey Currier & Kacy, Corey Currier, Shannon Kaiser & Bryan, Alexis Schofield & Bryce, Nicole Chan & Dan, Robert MacIver, Jr. & Sara, Ryan MacIver & Jake and the late Mark Eric Jepson, “Great-Nana” of Michael Hartford, Travis Anthony, Scarlett MacIver, Connor and Morgan Currier, Brenna, Jake, Sean and Brigitte Kaiser, Brady and Hailey Chan, Robert MacIver, III, Wyatt Pilcher and two little ones on the way.

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Saturday, May 11th from 12:00 noon to 2:30 p.m. immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 2:30 p.m. A mercy meal will be held at the St. Anthony Club, 1020 Main St., Woburn at 4:00 PM.

Memorial donations in Marilyn’s name may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 18 Orchard View Drive, Unit 4, Londonderry, NH 03053.
