Marjorie E. (Norden) Brogna

Marjorie E. (Norden) Brogna, age 72, a long-time resident of Burlington, died peacefully with her family at her side on January 8, 2013, at the Winchester Hospital .

Marjorie was born in Reading, MA on December 16, 1940, she was the cherished daughter of the late John R. and Margaret (Knight) Norden.  Marjorie moved to Burlington as a young girl where she lived for many years before moving to Woburn.

Marjorie married the “love of her life” Felix C. Brogna, Jr. on July 7, 1957.  Marjorie and Felix moved back to Burlington in 1967 where they raised a large and loving family.  Marjorie and Felix celebrated more than 55 years of marriage and made many memories for generations to come.

Prior to retiring, Marjorie worked at Marshalls Warehouse in Woburn for many years where she was a dedicated employee, dependable, and outgoing; she made many friends over the years with her co-workers.

Family was most important to Marjorie, she was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother.  Marjorie loved her family unconditionally, she enjoyed every family celebration, holiday, and was very proud of all of their accomplishments.  Marjorie was very gentle, kind, caring, and loving; she is described as the most “awesome” mother anyone could ask for.

In her spare time, Marjorie loved to knit, crochet, and help anyone in need.  She always put others before herself and was always there to lend a hand.

Marjorie was quite a lady who will be dearly missed by all.

Marjorie was the beloved wife of Felix C. Brogna, Jr., devoted mother of Margaret A. Moscato & her husband Frank of Lowell, Michael C. Brogna & his wife Jackie of Groton, NH, Felix C. Brogna III of Colorado Springs, CO, Patrick K. Brogna & his wife Kerrie Lafreniere of Woburn, Rose E. Jeffers & her companion John Ricci of Woburn, Raymond A. Brogna & his wife Michelle of North Reading, Susan M. Brogna & her companion Norman Gosslin of Waltham, William J. Brogna & his wife Kerry of Wakefield, and the late Paul C. Brogna, loving grandmother of Frances J., Gina Marie, Joseph M., Michael, Corey, Tony, Alicia, Christopher D., Dyan M., Elizabeth M., Katie, Stephen, Shania, Anthony, Jessica, Michael F., Shawn P., Andrew S., Kevin A., Heather, Melanie A., Felix R., William, Kayla, Kyle, and the late Patrick, great-grandmother of Dominique, Zoey, David, Maggie, Angel, Maria, Serenity, Owen, Emma Rose, Jordan and Natalie, cherished daughter of the late John R. and Margaret (Knight) Norden, dear sister of Mary Doucette of Woburn, Joan Dickie of Burlington, and John “Butch” Norden & his wife Helen of Norway, ME.  Marjorie is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Friday, January 11th at 11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington at 12:00 noon.  Interment Pine Haven Cemetery, Burlington.  Visiting hours Thursday, January 10th from 2-6 p.m.  Memorial donations in Marjorie’s name may be made to the American Lung Association, 460 Totten Pond Road #400,  Waltham, MA 02451 or to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA  01701.

    My deepest sympathy goes out to the whole family. Margie was a wonderful woman..My last visit to the states included a nice visit with Margie and Mary. The visit ended with Margie saying “the next time you visit I’ll have a family get together for you.” She always loved a reason for getting the family together (so I have been told)

    I just wana say that my grandmother was very special to all of us ecspecially me! I miss her so much n i hope shes happy now that shes with her mother and father! But no matter how happy she is my mother is lost without her and so is the rest of the girls in the family(me,auntie rosie,auntie susan,and melanie).R.I.P GRANDMA I LUV U N WISH U WAS HERE TO GIVE ME GUIDANCE!
