McMullin, Patricia J.

September 1st, 2011

Patricia J. (Heise) McMullin, of Dennis, MA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 1, 2011, at the age of 88.

Patricia was born on October 18, 1922, in East St. Louis, Illinois, she raised and educated in Illinois and was the cherished only daughter of the late Alvin and Lietta (Williams) Heise.

Patricia married the “love of her life” Ralph D. McMullin in 1939, together they shared over 63 years of marriage and raised two beautiful daughters before his passing in 2002. Patricia and Ralph, along with their girls, lived in California, Ohio, and Indiana, before they settled in Dennis, Massachusetts over 25 years ago. Patricia was very active in her community in Dennis, she was a volunteer at the Public Library and spent many years volunteering with the local Hospice, Patricia had a passion for giving to others and she loved her patients.

In her spare time, Patricia enjoyed stenciling, she had a knack for interior decorating, and was an avid gardener, but that didn’t compare to spending every free moment she could with her grandchildren. Patricia undoubtedly loved being a grandmother.

Patricia will be fondly remembered for her kind and caring ways, for her ability to give of herself to others, and most notably for her devotion to her family and friends, she will be greatly missed by all.

Patricia was the beloved wife of the late Ralph D. McMullin, loving mother of Kathleen A. “Kate” Leduc and her husband Dan of Wilmington, and Susan Gentry of Virginia, cherished grandmother of James Gentry, Lian Leduc and the late Johnathan Gentry, dear sister of the late James and Robert Heise.

Family and friends will gather for visiting hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rt. 62), Wilmington, on Friday, September 2, 2011 from 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. immediately followed by a Funeral Home Service at 12:00 noon.
