Michael Thomas Gilman, age 35, of Wilmington, formerly of Reading, passed away unexpectedly on September 22, 2015.
Michael was the beloved husband of Maureen M. (Hannon) Gilman, devoted father of James T. Gilman and Matthew J. Gilman all of Wilmington, cherished son of William and Margaret (Yahoub) Alley of Reading. Michael is survived by his brother, Nathaniel Alley of North Reading and predeceased by his sister, Sonia Jaena. He was the loving grandson of the late Ernest and Victoria Yahoub. Michael is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Family & friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Tuesday, September 29th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, at 10:00 a.m. Interment with Military Honors to follow in Wood End Cemetery, Reading. Visiting hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, September 28th from 5:00-8:00 p.m.
Memorial donations in Michael’s name may be made to Local Heroes, Inc., P.O. Box 536, Wilmington, MA 01887.
Michael proudly served in the U.S. Army with deployment in Iraq in the 101st Airborne Division as a Combat Medic with the 2BCT 502 Infantry Regiment earning many medals including the Army Commendation Medal with V Device as well as the Combat Medical Badge.
Doc Gilman rest in peace brother. You will be missed. You and your entire family are in my thoughts and prayers.
