Moon, Anne

Anne C. (Geary) Moon, age 83, a long-time resident of Wilmington, died peacefully on Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at the Methuen Healthcare Center following a lengthy illness.

Anne was born on June 8, 1927, she was the cherished daughter of the late Edward and Margaret Geary. She was brought up in Medford and was a graduate of Medford High School. She married her high school sweetheart Edwin Moon, Jr. in September 1947, together they shared 57 years of marriage before his passing in March of 2005.

Anne and Edwin moved to Wilmington in 1974 where they raised their five sons. Anne loved her family very much, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for her family, they were the center of her world.

Anne was also a very active communicant of St. Thomas of Villanova Church before her illness made it difficult for her to get around.

Anne was a gentle and classy lady, she was very soft spoken and kind to others, she will be greatly missed by her family.

Anne was the beloved wife of the late Edwin Moon, Jr., devoted mother of Edwin Moon III & his wife Lorraine of Wakefield, Mark Moon & his wife Nanci of Methuen, Michael Moon & his wife Carolyn of Wilmington, Paul Moon & his wife Tracy of Goffstown, NH, and Brian Moon of Wilmington, loving grandmother of Ryan, Ashley, Kyle, Kellie, Karissa, Justin, Jennifer, Sara, Sean, and Zachary, dear sister of the late Paul Geary.

Family and friends will gather for a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas Church, 126 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington on Monday, February 14th at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in the family lot at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
