Moore,bruceBruce E. Moore, age 57, of Wilmington, formerly of Billerica, died Saturday, January 9, 2010, at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Bruce was born in Boston on December 21, 1952. He was raised in Malden with a large and loving family and was a graduate of Malden High School Class of 1971. Bruce married his High School Sweetheart Gail A. Parent of Wilmington on March 25th 1972.

Bruce enlisted into the U. S. Air Force in July of 1971 and was deployed to Vietnam shortly after the birth of their first born child. Upon his return from Vietnam, Bruce and Gail were stationed several places before he was honorably discharged on September 28, 1974, they settled in Billerica where they raised their three children. The family moved back to Wilmington a few years ago.

Bruce was the owner and operator of B & G Landscaping in Billerica. He was also the Post Commander of the VFW Post 8819 in N. Billerica for two years.

Bruce will be fondly remembered as a sports enthusiast, who enjoyed following the Red Sox and Patriots, he was a hard worker, devoted family man, and a good friend. He will be greatly missed.

Bruce was the beloved husband of 37 years to Gail A. (Parent) Moore of Wilmington, devoted father of Michael E. Moore & his wife Michele of North Andover, Shawn P. Moore and Michelle L. Moore both of Wilmington, brother of Stephen Moore & his wife Donna of Florida, son-in-law of Richard Parent, Sr. & the late Jean Parent of Wilmington, Bruce is also survived by several brothers & sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was the dear grandson of the late Grace Moore and nephew of the late Alfred & Katherine Trefrey.

His Funeral Service will take place on Friday, January 15th at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave.(Rte. 62), Wilmington at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting hours Thursday, January 14th from 5-8 p.m.

Memorial donations in Bruce’s name may be made to Local Heroes, Inc., P. O. Box 536, Wilmington, MA 01887.

    I just heard of this horrific news. I had no idea uncle Bruce was ill. If you need anything, please do not hesitate to call me 781-492-8654. I remember you, uncle Bruce, and Michele coming to Reid’s baby shower and you and the kids coming to the christening as well. sorry we lost touch once I moved. Would love to hear from you.
