Nancy A. (Andersen) Stouffer

Nancy A. (Andersen) Stouffer, age 81, of Wilmington, passed away on April 29, 2020.

Nancy was born in Woburn, MA on April 20, 1939; she was the cherished daughter of the late Neils and Marjorie (Stevenson) Andersen.  Nancy was raised in Wilmington and graduated from Wilmington High School with the Class of 1956.

After graduation, Nancy went to Framingham State University, where she earned her Bachelors degree in education.  She also earned her Masters Degree from UMass Lowell.

Nancy met and married her husband, Russell A. Stouffer.  The couple lived in Wilmington, where they raised their only son, Jeffrey.  Nancy was a wonderful mother who enjoyed her time at sporting events, holidays and other special occasions.  She was extremely proud when she became a “Mimi” to her three grandchildren, Kelsey, Cody and Kendall. The family made many wonderful memories together along with their extended family, close friends, and neighbors.

Nancy worked as a school teacher for the Town of Wilmington for many years.  She made countless friends with her co-workers and special bonds with her students.  Nancy loved her job and continued her friendships long after retirement.

In here spare time, Nancy loved to garden; she spent a lot of time in her yard and was proud of the flowers she grew. Nancy was a stylish lady who enjoyed many shopping trips with her friends.  She also had a great appreciation for fast cars.

Nancy was the beloved wife of the late Russell A. Stouffer, devoted mother of Jeffrey Stouffer & his wife Cynthia of East Falmouth, loving “Mimi” of Kelsey, Cody and Kendall Stouffer, cherished daughter of the late Neils and Marjorie (Stevenson) Andersen, dear sister of Robert Andersen & his wife Ann of Wakefield, NH, formerly of Wilmington, sister-in-law of Carl Stouffer of Idaho, the late William Stouffer and Virginia Quinn. Nancy is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Due to the current situation of the Coronavirus and for everyone’s safety, the Stouffer family has decided to have a private service at this time. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date; please refer to Nichols Funeral Home website for details.

Memorial donations in Nancy’s name may be made to the Shriner’s Hospitals for Children- Boston, Attn: Development Office, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.

    Jeff, thank you for sharing your Mom. Meeting her and seeing you together a couple times showed me what a wonderful woman she was and the special bond you had. We spoke a couple times and she was always the sweetest person to Me.

    Nancy has been my dear, dear Friend for 46 years. We met as teachers in Wilmington. For most of our careers we mainly taught at the same schools.
    Our husbands were were great friends. Every winter we would cruise the Caribbean with other teachers. Our travel went world-wide after retirement.There was so much laughter and beautiful memories.

    I was lucky to have Mrs. Stouffer twice. Once in kindergarten at Reading Baptist and first grade at the Wildwood. I was also blessed to work with her, when after college and I substituted for Wilmington. She was a great woman. Remembered fondly for her Corvette and her great smelling perfume.

    I too taught with Nancy for many years in addition to taking courses with her during the summer and attending Reading Conferences in Sturbridge. We shared many, many laughs.
    Nancy was truly the most disciplined woman I have ever known and a truly consummate professional.
    Many of our conversations centered around her husband Russell, as well as Jeffrey and his family. They were the main focus of her life.

    Both my husband Bill Reid and myself wish to send our condolences of Nancy. I knew Nancy and Russ from the Shriners in Wilmington. Although Nancy was very quiet we sat together at a few parades and I would always get her laughing. Russ was in the same Unit at the Shriners with Bill Reid. May she rest in peace.
