Nancy A. McLaughlin (Sullivan)

September 3rd, 2016

Nancy A. McLaughlin (Sullivan), age 57, of Salem, NH, formerly of Melrose, MA, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on September 2, 2016, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Nancy was born on August 28, 1959, in Melrose, MA; she was the cherished daughter of Michael and Barbara Sullivan. Nancy was raised and educated in Melrose and a graduate of Melrose High School with the Class of 1978. Nancy was part of a large and loving family; as a child she enjoyed summers spent at the beach in Wells, Maine. This was a tradition that she carried through to the next generation and loved taking her boys to the same beaches.

Nancy went on to further her education at Salem State College where she met Don McLaughlin; her “college sweetheart”. The couple were inseparable and they were married in Melrose on October 20, 1984.

Nancy and Don moved to Salem, NH, shortly after they were married where they raised two wonderful sons Patrick and John. Nancy loved being a mom, she always supported her “boys” in everything they wanted to do and she was very proud of all of their accomplishments.

Nancy loved her family dearly; she especially enjoyed all the time they spent at their home on Lake Winnipesaukee. Whether they were boating, entertaining, or just “hanging out” at the beach; everyone always had a great time at the McLaughlin House.

Nancy was a hard worker; for more than 30 years she was employed as an accountant for Coca Cola of Northern New England. Nancy was a dedicated employee and very knowledgeable in her field; she was a pleasure to work with and made many friends with her co-workers throughout the years.

Nancy will be fondly remembered as a nice lady who loved the simple things in life. She was very devoted to her family and friends and would do anything for them. Nancy was truly loved and will be greatly missed by many.

Nancy was the beloved wife of Donald A. McLaughlin, devoted mother of Patrick McLaughlin and John McLaughlin all of Salem, NH. Cherished daughter of Barbara (McManus) Sullivan and the late Michael Sullivan of Melrose, dear sister of Michael Sullivan & wife Maria of Florida, Paul Sullivan & wife Maria of Peabody, Danny Sullivan of Maine, Larry Sullivan of Melrose and Elaine Dixon & husband Gary of Lynn. Daughter-in-law of Bill & Marilyn McLaughlin of Salem, NH formerly of Wilmington, sister-in-law of Denise & Kevin Bagrowski of Salem, NH. Nancy is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Service at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, MA, on Wednesday, September 7th at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield. Visiting hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 6th from 4:00-8:00 p.m.
