Deborah J. (Jerrett) Tello

Deborah J. (Jerrett) Tello, age 50, a life-long resident of Wilmington, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on January 13, 2012, following a courageous battle with cancer.  
 
Debbie was born in Winchester, MA on May 31, 1961, she was the cherished daughter of the late Cyril and Bessie Jerrett.  Debbie was raised and educated in Wilmington, graduating from Wilmington High School in 1979. 
 
Debbie married the love of her life Daniel C. Tello on March 26, 1982 and together they raised three beautiful children, they were truly Debbie’s pride and joy.  Debbie took the role as wife and mother very seriously, she was extremely devoted to her family.  Debbie attended numerous school and sporting events, she was always there to lend a hand and show her support to her children no matter what they were involved in, her love for them was unconditional.
 
Debbie was a wonderful friend and neighbor, she would do anything for anyone, always putting others needs before her own.  She was always wearing a smile, had a great sense of humor, and an endearing personality that made others feel welcomed and loved. 
 
Debbie was a hard worker, she not only took care of her own family but for many years she took care of other children making them feel safe and loved, treating her daycare kids as her own; and making life-long friends with their parents.  Debbie loved children and it showed all over her face when she was around them.
 
Debbie was strong willed and a fighter, she advocated for many kids in need of help, whether it was a troubled teen or someone with substance abuse problems, Debbie was right there to lend a hand and not to judge others.
 
Debbie was also a “survivor” when it came to her own health issues, she fought hard and always had a positive outlook in a negative situation, never giving in, and always worrying about those she loved not herself.
 
Debbie will be fondly remembered for her kindness and compassion, her great stories, her love of animals especially her beagles, and for her unwavering devotion to those she loved, Debbie was truly an amazing woman who will be missed by many.
 
Debbie was the beloved wife of Daniel C. Tello, devoted mother of Melissa N. Tello, Stephen J. Tello, and the late Daniel J. Tello all of Wilmington, dear sister of Nancy & Richard Barnes of Boulder City, NV, James Jerrett of Cavendish, Newfoundland, Charles & Connie Jerrett of Tarpon Springs, FL, Elizabeth & Peter Duke of Bucksport, ME, and the late Johnny Jerrett, loving aunt of Jenna Jerrett, John Jerrett, and Isabel Duke, Debbie is also survived by many dear friends.
Visiting hours will be held at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62) Wilmington on Tuesday, January 17th from2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Service on Wednesday, January 18th at 11:00 a.m. in the Wilmington United Methodist Church, 87 Church St., Wilmington. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Marion G. (Ward) Carr

January 9th, 2012
Marion Grace (Ward) Carr, age 91, of Winter Springs, FL formerly a long-time resident of Wilmington, MA, died peacefully on January 4, 2012. Marion was born in Somerville, MA on February 5, 1920, she was the cherished daughter of the late George P. and Viola D. (Ham) Ward.
Marion was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence Carr, Sr., with whom she worked side by side in the Amusement Business for many years, she was the devoted mother of Marion Cushing of Wilmington, Lawrence Carr, Jr. of Georgia, and Marilyn Schuback of Winter Springs, FL. She is survived by 7 grandchildren, 17great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and was also the loving great-grandmother of the late Nicholas Lawyer.
Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Mass on Tuesday, January 17th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington. Interment will follow in the family lot at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.

James H. Gray

Gray, James H., age 81, of Wilmington, passed away on January 7, 2012, at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center.  Beloved husband of Jacqueline (Whalen) Gray of Wilmington, loving father of Jacqueline Elliopullos and her husband William of Saco, ME, Michael Gray of Wilmington, Debbie Rabourn and her husband Robert of Oregon, and James Gray of Arizona, devoted “Grandpa” of many grandchildren, son of the late James and Anna (Cripps) Gray, dear brother of Mary Gray of Marion and the late John Gray.
Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Thursday, January 12th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Dorothy’s Church, Main St. (Rt. 38), Wilmington at 10:00 a.m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Helen I. Drover

Helen I. (Allen) Drover, fondly known as “Candy” to her family and friends, of Woburn, formerly of Wilmington and North Reading, died Thursday, January 5, 2012 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington following a courageous battle with cancer. She was 66 years old.
 
Helen was born on April 9, 1945, in Woburn, MA, she was the dear daughter of the late Robert and Helen (Johnson) Allen. Helen grew up in Wilmington and was a graduate of Wilmington High School Class of 1964.
 
Helen was employed for many years at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington and Lahey North in Peabody, where she worked in the Hematology/Oncology and Internal Medicine Departments. Helen was a very compassionate person, she made many friends at Lahey with her co-workers and patients alike, they soon became her extended family. Helen loved her job but as her illness progressed and her strength diminished, she had to retire.
 
Helen was very active and extremely talented, she had a knack for cake decorating and a willingness to teach others this art. Helen was a long-time member and Past President of the International Cake Decorating Society (ICES), she traveled all over and took part in many conventions where she taught and learned new methods of decorating. She was also a member of Sugar Delights Cake Club, a cake decorating teacher at A.C. Moore in Woburn, and a cake decorating teacher for the Wilton Company.
 
Helen enjoyed teaching, she loved her students and was very proud of their accomplishments. Helen not only taught decorating but she made countless beautiful cakes for family and friends over the years.
 
Helen was a member of the Epicurian Restaurant Club which raised Scholarship money for students going into the Culinary Field.
 
Helen was also very active and worked at the Woburn Senior Center where she continuously helped the seniors in what ever capacity was needed.
 
Helen certainly had an endearing personality, she made others feel welcome, and she was always there to lend a hand or give advice. She made friends where ever she went and maintained friendships that lasted throughout her life-time.
 
Helen was very devoted to her family, she loved them unconditionally and was always there to provide love and support not only to her family but their friends as well. Helen was truly an amazing woman and will be greatly missed.

Helen was the beloved wife of the late Walter “Wally” Drover, devoted mother of Timothy F. Swain and Donald A. Drover both of Woburn, sister of Robert Allen and his wife Dorothy and Virginia Allen all of Florida, and the late Thomas Allen. Helen is also survived by her best friend Carolyn Harris of Wilmington, as well as many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

John B. Couch, Jr.

January 3rd, 2012

John B. Couch, Jr., age 48, of Pelham, NH, passed away peacefully at home after a long illness on January 2, 2012. John was born in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the cherished son of Vilma Park-Conrad of Pelham, NH, and the late John B. Couch, Sr. He was raised in Pittsburgh and later moved to Andover, MA, and was a graduate of Andover High School. John worked for Screen Print in Wilmington for many years and more recently at Macy’s. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and enjoyed playing golf. In addition to his mother John is survived by his sisters Linda Hancock and her fiance  Allen Smith of Derry, NH, and Rhonda Palumbo of Pelham, NH, his brothers Ronald Park and his wife Jennifer of Dallas, TX, Robert Couch, and Peter Couch both of Pittsburgh, PA, and his step-father David Conrad of Pelham, NH. John was the loving uncle of Tara, Shana, Logan, Kahlen, Gabriella, and Olivia. John was also the step-son of the late Ronald Park. Henry Jacintho

December 30th, 2011
Henry Jacintho, of Mashpee, formerly of Watertown, died peacefully on December 28, 2011, at Wingate at Belvidere Nursing Residence in Lowell. Henry was the husband of the late Vonne (Richards) Jacintho, devoted father of Scott Jacintho and his wife Lorraine (Spada) of Tewksbury, loving “Grampa” of Emilio and Lisetta Jacintho. Private Funeral Services were held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Henry was a U.S. Army Veteran during WWII.

Eva Ricci

December 25th, 2011

Eva D. (Roberts) Ricci, age 85, of Wilmington, died peacefully on December 23, 2011, at Woodbriar of Wilmington following a brief illness.   Eva was born on January 5, 1926 in Fall River, MA, and she grew up on the family farm in Shrewsbury.   She married Albert Ricci in 1946 and they moved to Watertown where they lived for many years before moving to Wilmington in 1966.    Eva and Albert had a great life together, they raised five children, and made many memories over their 50 years of marriage before his passing in 1996.  Eva’s family was everything to her, she loved to be with everyone and was concerned about what was “going on” in their lives.  Eva loved camping, boating, and vacationing in Florida just to spend time with her family.  When Eva became a “Nana” she was overjoyed and loved taking care of the grandchildren.  Eva was loving, kind, generous, and fun to be with, she was always about “family” and she will be dearly missed.   Eva was the beloved wife of the late Albert Ricci, devoted mother of Janet DeYoung and her husband Charles of Largo, FL, Albert Ricci, Jr., and Theresa Harrison and her husband William all of Wilmington, MA, Marie Galvin and her husband James of Miami, FL, and Shirley Nordblom and her husband Robert Winder of Ayer, MA, loving “Nana” of Joseph Sozanski, Joanne Gulliver, Jason Kapoulis, Jessica Aprile, William Harrison III, James Galvin, David Galvin, Bradley Galvin, Paul Nordblom, Mary Nordblom, Michael Nordblom, and great -grandchildren Tyler, Cody, Dillon, Dereck, Russell, Tayler, Emerson, and William, dear sister of Joseph, Edna, and the late George Roberts.   Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Service on Wednesday, December 28th at 11:00 a.m. in the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington.  Interment will take place in the family lot at Wildwood Cemetery in Wilmington. Alfred F. Ciampa

Alfred F. Ciampa, Sr., age 73, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at home on December 20, 2011.  Al was born on January 7, 1938 in Boston’s North End, he was the dear son of the late George and Anna Marie (Morrielo) Ciampa, his family lived in Charlestown for several years before moving to Somerville where Al was raised and educated.   Upon his completion of High School, Al enlisted in the United States Army during the Korean War.  Al felt strongly about serving his country, he was active in the Army from 1955-1958 when he was honorably discharged and went on to fulfill his Reserve duty until 1963.   When Al returned home, he married his “best friend and the love of his life” Jean Barretto, Al and Jean settled in Malden and Al was appointed to the Malden Police Department in 1965.  Al was a hard worker and very driven, he served the community of Malden well and made Sergeant on the Police Force, being promoted after just three years of dedicated and faithful service.  Al loved his job on the Police Force but was forced to retire in 1975 when his health declined.   It was in 1975 that Al and Jean moved to Wilmington where they raised their four children, Al loved being with his kids, they enjoyed sports together, fishing, and spending time in Maine.  Al’s family was his life, he was a devoted husband and father and he cherished his role as “Papa”.   In his spare time, Al enjoyed following the Red Sox, Patriots, and Celtics, he was also very knowledgeable about guns and was an avid collector.   Al will be remembered as a wonderful family man, a good friend and neighbor, and a true fighter, he handled his health problems with courage and strength, never giving up.  He will be greatly missed.   Al was the beloved husband of over 45 years to Jean (Barretto) Ciampa, loving father of Gina Elbeery and her husband Stephen of Hampton Falls, NH, Alfred F. Ciampa, Jr. and his wife Jennifer and Christopher Ciampa all of Wilmington and Anthony Ciampa and his wife Diane of Bradford, cherished grandfather of Kelli Farmer, Nicole and Jake Elbeery, Tristan and Victoria Ciampa and Gianna Ciampa, dear brother of Maryanne Dennehy of California, Richard Ciampa and Janet Moynihan both of Wilmington, and the late George Ciampa, Al is also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends.   Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Thursday, December 29th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington at 10:00 a.m.  Visiting hours Wednesday, December 28th from 4-8 p.m.  In lieu of flowers donations in Alfred’s name may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA  01701.

Tadeusz Kolcz

Kolcz, Tadeusz “Richard”, age 53, of Dorchester, MA, formerly of Wilmington, MA, died December 17, 2011. Beloved father of Justyna and Kimberley Kolcz of France, dear brother of Danuta Rak and her husband Jerzy of Wilmington, cherished son of the late Tadeusz and Anna (Komorkiewicz) Kolcz, also survived by his nephew David Rak of Wilmington, as well as many friends.

Stanley Hesketh

Stanley Hesketh, of Tewksbury, formerly of Cambridge, age 89, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2011, at the D’Youville Senior Center in Lowell following a brief illness.

Born in Tewksbury, MA on August 6, 1922, Stanley was the beloved son of the late Wallace and Lillian (Whittle) Hesketh. Stanley was raised in Somerville and joined the Army at the outset of WWII.

 Stanley married Marion E. Kirkland on June 7, 1947. Stanley and Marion raised their three children in Cambridge and it wasn’t until after Stanley’s retirement from Harvard University, that he made the move back to his native Tewksbury in 1987.

 Stanley was a skilled woodworker. He made a number of furniture pieces in his home as well as many unique “one of a kind” pieces for his family and friends.

 Stanley was an avid golfer and very good horseshoe player. Stanley enjoyed family celebrations, holidays, vacations, or any occasion to be with his children and grandchildren. He especially loved being a grandfather; he loved all of his family dearly and was very proud of their accomplishments.

 Stanley was also a man of great faith. He was an active member of Pilgrim Congregational Church in Cambridge for many years before it closed and became a member of the Wilmington Congregational Church where he enjoyed worshiping.

 Stanley will be remembered as a gentle soul, he was kind, caring, always doing for others, he will be greatly missed.

 Stanley was the beloved husband of Marion E. (Kirkland) Hesketh, loving father of Stanley Hesketh, Jr. and his wife Susan of Pennsylvania, David Hesketh and his wife Sandra of Tewksbury, and Carol Davis and her husband Joe of Oklahoma, cherished “Grandpa” of Daniel, Sarah, Matthew, Katie, David, Steven, Philip John, Elizabeth, Kristin, Philip Stanley and great-”Grampy” of Alexa, Brianna, Kayla, Brayden, Madison, Drew, Sam and Avery, dear brother of Lawrence Hesketh of West Roxbury, the late Wallace, William and Eddie Hesketh and Lillian Hazen, also survived by several nieces and nephews.

 Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, December 20th from 4-7 p.m. at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rt.62) Wilmington. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Nichols Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Tewksbury Cemetery.
