Patricia A. (Fougere) DeWolf, “Patsy”

April 10th, 2014

Patricia A. (Fougere) DeWolf, fondly known as “Patsy”, age 73, of Billerica, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on April 10, 2014, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Pat was born and raised in Medford, MA; she was the cherished daughter of the late Freeman and Marie (Perry) Fougere.  Pat was a graduate of Medford High School with the class of 1958.

Pat married “her sweetheart” Joseph DeWolf on September 25, 1965, they lived in Medford for several years before relocating to Billerica in December of 1975, where they raised three wonderful daughters.  Pat loved being a wife and mother, her family was always first and foremost in her life.  When Pat became “Nana” to Isabelle and Carter she was ecstatic, she loved to spend time with her grandchildren and spoil them rotten; they were the light of her life.

As her family grew and her daughters entered school, Pat decided to take a “part time” and “temporary” position at T. J. Maxx in Wilmington.  Following 25 years of dedicated service to the company, Pat retired at the position of Office Manager.  Pat actually loved her job; she made countless friends over the years and she got to do what she loved best, shop!  Pat always enjoyed finding a bargain and just the perfect gift for someone special.

Pat enjoyed boating and vacationing, especially the many trips they took to Nova Scotia to visit family, everyone always had a great time.  Pat also looked forward to her ritual with her girlfriends to As Good As It Gets Café for their weekly “breakfast club” where they would make plans over a good cup of coffee.

Pat was a woman of great faith and strength; she was an active communicant of St. Dorothy’s Church for many years.  Pat’s faith helped her to handle her illness with courage and grace; she fought hard and never gave up.  Pat was an inspiration to many and she will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Pat was the beloved wife of Joseph L. DeWolf of Billerica, devoted mother of Judi DeWolf of Hudson, MA, Laurel “Lori” DeWolf-Grise and her husband Edward Grise of Billerica, and Erin DeWolf of Chelmsford, loving “Nana” of Isabelle and Carter Grise, cherished daughter of the late Freeman and Marie (Perry) Fougere, dear sister of the late William Fougere.  Pat is also survived by many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Monday, April 14th at 11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Dorothy’s Church, Main Street (Rte. 38), Wilmington at 12:00 noon.  Interment Fox Hill Cemetery, Billerica.  Visiting hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday, April 13th from 4-8 p.m.  Donations in Pat’s memory may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Massachusetts, 9 Erie Drive, Suite 101, Natick, MA  01760.
