Patricia A. Walatt

Patricia A. Walatt, age 72, a Wilmington resident of 31 years, passed away on September 4, 2013 at the Wilmington Health Care Center following a brief illness. Born on April 7, 1941, Patricia was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph F. and Esther L. (Doherty) Walatt. Patricia was raised in Malden and moved to Melrose for several years. Patricia graduated from Melrose High School, following graduation the family returned to Malden.

Patricia along with her business partner Monica owned the Countryside Shoppe in Wilmington for many years; they were very pleasant to their customers and made many friends throughout the years.

In more recent years, Patricia worked as a home health aide coordinator for Best Home Care Company in Wakefield, where she always put her patient’s needs first.

In her spare time, Patricia loved to paint and was known for her beautiful art work.

Patricia will be fondly remembered as very kind, caring, and loving and most of all devoted to her family and friends who will miss her dearly.

Patricia was the dear sister of Carol Simonelli, loving aunt of Brian J. Simonelli and his wife Rachel, great aunt of Aislinn, Collin and Kirsten, all of Wilmington, she is further survived by her best friend Monica Downing as well as many special cousins and friends.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Friday, September 6th, for Visitation from 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.  Immediately followed by a Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m.  Interment will follow in Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden. Memorial donations in Patricia’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
