Patricia (Mullaney) Boulton

November 30th, 2018

Patricia Ann Boulton (Mullaney), age 83, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at home on November 29, 2018.

Pat was born on June 13, 1935; she was the dear daughter of John, Sr. and Irene Mullaney. Pat was raised and educated in Waltham and a graduate of St. Charles of Borromeo High School in Waltham where she was taught by the Sisters of St. Joseph. She had many close friends . Pat known as “Patsy” was raised in a large and loving family who enjoyed spending every summer at York Beach Maine with her sister Dot, Robert , mother and family members. Throughout her life Pat loved going to the beach and Nubble light. It was her happy place.

In June of 1958, Pat married the “love of her life” Dick Boulton; the couple raised three wonderful children, Michael, Maria and Beth; they also cherished their time as grandparents to Jessica and Gerard. Pat was very domestic and an excellent homemaker. Pat was very devoted to her family and she always showered them with unconditional love.

Pat and Dick moved to Wilmington in 1966 and she soon became involved in the community, was very involved in Marriage Encounter Program and St. Thomas of Villanova Church for many years. Pat was a woman of great faith; she was kind, caring and gentle towards others, for over 25 years Pat brought communion to the sick and elderly throughout the community. She also volunteered at local nursing homes, mainly the Wilmington Health Care Center (CareOne) where she also brought communion and visited with patients every Thursday. Pat’s generosity of her time and talents did not go unnoticed and she was recognized by the town of Wilmington for her unwavering Community Service.

Pat’s kindness did not stop with people; she had an infinity for animals especially her cats and she loved all dogs especially her beloved Bamba and Snoopy. She fed and cared for the local stray cats on her street, worked to have them spayed and vaccinated, mostly two, her beloved Whiskers and Ferra , with Ferra becoming her indoor pet for many years.

Pat remained very active throughout her life; she looked forward to going to the Wilmington Senior Center where she participated in their many activities and exercise classes. She also enjoyed the long walks she took with her husband Dick around town.

Pat will be fondly remembered for her love of music, her endearing personality, and great sense of humor; she was always up for an “adventure” with her family and friends no matter where it took them. Pat was very sweet; she was always smiling and happy; her upbeat personality always made others around her just as happy.

Pat was a “giver”; throughout her life she was always doing for others and loved every minute of it. She was there to lend a hand or an ear to her family, friends, neighbors or anyone in the community that was in need of her help. Pat was truly a “one of a kind” lady who will forever be loved and missed by all who knew her.

Pat was the beloved wife of Richard C. “Dick” Boulton, devoted mother of Michael W. Boulton & his long-time companion Chuck Clark of Merrimack, NH, Maria T. DeMont & husband Frank of Hanson, MA and Elizabeth A. Duncan & husband David of Merrimack, NH, loving Nana of Jessica and Gerard DeMont, cherished daughter of the late John J. Mullaney, Sr. and Irene M. (Arsenault) Mullaney, dear sister of the late John J. Mullaney, Jr. & late wife Hilda, the late Dorothy M. Pratt & husband Robert and the late sister Rita Mullaney. Pat was also the special aunt to many nieces and nephews including the late Thomas Mullaney , and Godmother to the late John Mullaney, III. , the late PJ Pierce and is further survived by many cousins and friends.
