Patricia Sencabaugh

October 20th, 2014

Patricia E. (Powers) Sencabaugh, fondly known as “Patti” to her family and friends, of Wilmington, formerly of Woburn, passed away at the Kaplan Family Hospice House on October 20, 2014, after a lengthy illness; she was 68 years old.

Patti was born on March 3, 1946 in Winchester, MA; she was the cherished daughter of the late Francis K. and Beatrice F. (Furtaw) Powers. Patti was raised in Woburn and was a graduate of Woburn High School.

Patti married her beloved husband and best friend, Donald A. Sencabaugh, on June 3, 1967; together the couple shared 47 years of marriage. Patti and Donald moved to Wilmington in 1973, where they raised their wonderful family.

Patti was extremely devoted to her family, in fact, when asked; she told everyone that her family was her greatest achievement. Patti was a devoted and loving mother who was always there for her children; she attended countless school and sporting events throughout the years, after all she was their number one fan. Patti was very proud of her children, their accomplishments, and most of all she was proud of the adults that they have grown to be.

When Patti became a grandmother her life became more enriched; her grandchildren were the light of her life. Patti loved to be involved with the grandchildren’s activities; she would play piano and share stories about her love of the White Mountains with Kaitlynne, she fondly enjoyed sharing in Jason’s love of art and nature, watching Jeremy and Gregory play soccer and baseball or listening to their many stories about fishing.

Patti’s true passion was wildlife and being outdoors. She spent much of her retirement in the White Mountains of New Hampshire and she wouldn’t pass up a chance to see where that dirt road would take her. Patti was truly adventurous and loved to photograph anything with fur or feathers.

Patti will be remembered as quite a lady who would do anything for her family and friends; she treated others with kindness, care, and unconditional love. Patti will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

Patti was the beloved wife of Donald A. Sencabaugh, devoted mother of Stephen Sencabaugh & his wife Denise of Tewksbury, Kristen McKenna & her husband Michael of Wilmington, Scott Sencabaugh & his wife Cheryl, Michael Sencabaugh of Wilmington and the late Michelle Sencabaugh, loving grandmother of Jeremy, Gregory, Kaitlynne and Jason, cherished daughter of the late Francis K. and Beatrice F. (Furtaw) Powers, dear sister of John Powers of Scituate and Judith Golden of Woburn.  Patti is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave, (Rt. 62), Wilmington, on Friday, October 24th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, at 10:00 a.m. Visiting hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, October 23rd from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Memorial donations in Patricia’s name may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923.
