Paul L. D’Eon

July 31st, 2019

Paul L. D’Eon, age 83, a long-time resident of Wilmington, passed away suddenly on July 30, 2019 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington.

Paul was born on August 26, 1935 in Boston, MA; he was the son of the late Isaie and Redina (D’Entremont) D’Eon. Paul grew up in Roxbury and graduated from Boston Technical High School.

Paul met and married Mary L. (Sheehan) D’Eon on September 12, 1959. They moved to Wilmington in 1966, where they raised their two children, Eileen and Dan. Paul and Mary spent many wonderful years together and truly enjoyed each other.

Paul worked as a draftsman for Analog Devices for a few years before taking a position at Eaton Corp. He was a very skilled worker who was instrumental in creating many valuable inventions. After several years of dedicated service to Eaton Corp., Paul retired to spend time with his family.

In his spare time, Paul traveled with Mary to many places including Hawaii, Alaska and the Caribbean. They had a great time on these trips and made several friends along the way. Paul loved to watch the Boston sports teams including the Red Sox, Patriots and Bruins and he was always up for a good game of cribbage with his family and friends.

Paul was involved in the creation of WCTV; he worked on the camera and production crews. He enjoyed making videos and helping with anything that needed to be done.

Paul was a genuinely nice guy. He enjoyed walking the neighborhood and chatted with everyone he met. Paul also loved to frequent Market Basket; whether he was there to shop or to socialize, he enjoyed running into everyone he met; he had a smile and a joke for all.

Paul will be remembered as a loving husband, father and Grampy. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Paul was the beloved husband of Mary L. (Sheehan) D’Eon, devoted father of Eileen Fenick & her husband Mark of Sammamish, WA and Daniel D’Eon & his wife Janine of Pepperell, loving “Grampy” of Deven, Emily, Lindsay, Brady, Ethan, Noah and Liam, cherished son of the late Isaie and Redina (D’Entremont) D’Eon, dear brother of Barbara D’Eon, Elaine LeBlanc both of West Roxbury and Steve D’Eon & his wife Mary of Needham, brother-in-law of Robert & Ann Sheehan. Paul is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Monday, August 5th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Dorothy’s Church, Main St., (Rte. 38), Wilmington at 10:00 a.m. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Sunday, August 4th from 2:00-6:00 p.m.
