Peck, Richard

Richard L. Peck, Sr., “Dickie”, age 69, of Lowell, formerly of Wilmington, died peacefully surrounded by family on February 21, 2011, at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington following a lengthy illness.

Richard was born on March 17, 1941, in Wilmington, MA, he was the dear son of the late Eldon and Lillian (Melanson) Peck. Richard grew up in Wilmington and was a graduate of Wilmington High School.

Prior to illness forcing his retirement, Richard was a security guard for many years.

Dickie was the father of Barbara Jean Banks of Gardner, Kimberly Wightman and Richard Peck, Jr. both of Methuen, Lillian, Julie, and Christine Peck all of Idaho, brother of Emily Kurkjian of Chelmsford, Barbara Sampson of Haverhill, Robert Peck of Billerica, Virginia Pupa of Wilmington, and the late Francis Peck, Roberta Ziegler, and Carol Newhouse. Dickie is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Thursday, March 17th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in the family lot at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers donations in Richard’s name may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

    I am so sorry to hear of Richard’s passing. I worked with Richard at Reliable Security. I always enjoyed talking with Richard & working with on special details at Auto Fair. I always worried about him and his health. My prayers go out to his family. God be with Richard so he can rest & no be in pain anymore. He touched alot of peoples lives & made thier day a better day. He deserves to go home with our father for interal peace. God Bless him and his family.
