  16. Candice Phillips says:

I feel that it is safe to write on here now that your death is not as much of a shock anymore. Daddy, I miss you. I went to your grave the other day but couldn’t bring myself to get out of the car. I simply stared at the spot where your ashes lie. I didn’t cry though. School is tough though. Just recently, I found out that my Semi Prom (Sophemore Prom) will be held on the night of your birthday — April 8th. It hurt so much. Whenever I swim in a meet for my Varsity team though, I think of you. The times when I would sit on your lap and you would let me drive your old Chevy Truck around camp. It pushes me to go faster when I swim. It makes me think that I am doing it for you. I’m doing so much for you. Everything hurts still and I can’t look at pictures of you or even let my mind drift off to old memories when I am in school. I may not have said it all that often over the past couple years but, I love you. I will always love you.

    You daughter,
    - Candice Phillips.
