Phyllis Nelson

January 6th, 2022

Phyllis Nelson, “Nunu”, of Wilmington, formerly of Malden, passed away at home on December 18, 2021 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Phyllis was the beloved daughter of the late Paul J. Sr. and Lucy (Cedrone) Ruggiero. Loving wife of Frank Nelson. Devoted mother of Denise Brozonos of Whittensville. Cherished grandmother to Michelle Gagnon and her husband Daniel of Marblehead. Loving sister of the late Paul Ruggiero and his wife Margaret, and the late Joseph Ruggiero and his wife Louise. She is also survived by many loving step children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Phyllis loved to travel with her husband, friends and family. Phyllis and her husband Frank traveled to 49 States by motorcycle during their days with the Harley Owners Group. When not traveling by bike, Phyllis enjoyed trips to the Caribbean soaking up the sun.

Phyllis also enjoyed cooking delicious meals for her family and would often cook her mother’s recipes. She loved spending time with her family, especially at the holidays. She always went out of her way to make everyone feel special.

Phyllis will be remembered for her loving heart and the ability to put a smile on everyone’s face.

We hope that her family will continue to honor her legacy by seeing the beauty in everyday life and by showing love and compassion for others.

Phyllis’s life will be honored at a celebration of life at a future date.

Contributions in Phyllis’s name can be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org)
