Regina A. Caron

Regina A. (Grant) Caron, age 72, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on September 12, 2014 at the Winchester Hospital.

Regina was born on March 4, 1942 in Boston, MA; she was the cherished daughter of the late Frederick W. and Dorothy M. (Desmond) Grant. Regina grew up in Milton and was a graduate of Milton High School.

Following graduation, Regina furthered her education and earned her Secretarial degree. Regina worked as a Secretary for the government for many years before her retirement.

Regina married her husband, the late George R. “Ahab” Caron, on June 26, 1970. The couple settled in Wilmington, where they raised their wonderful daughter, Jeanne. Regina and Ahab shared many years together before his passing in July of 2011. Regina was a devoted mother and “Mamie”; she especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren Alexa and Brendan, they were a bright light in her life.

Regina enjoyed being home; she loved to take care of her house, which was always kept immaculate. She also loved being outside and working in her beautiful garden.

Regina will be fondly remembered as an avid sports fan; she loved to watch the Bruins and Patriots games with her family and friends. Regina will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her.

Regina was the beloved wife of the late George R. “Ahab” Caron, devoted mother of Jeanne M. Caron and her fiancé Stephen P. Peterson of Wilmington, loving “Mamie” of Alexa and Brendan Kelley, cherished daughter of the late Frederick W. and Dorothy M. (Desmond) Grant, dear sister of Eleanor “Sue” Devine of Canton and the late Francis Grant. Regina is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62) Wilmington on Monday, September 15th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Memorial donations in Regina’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
