Richard D. “Dick” Elliott

November 3rd, 2013

Richard D. “Dick” Elliott, age 71, of Wilmington passed away on November 3, 2013.  Dick was born in Medford on August 4, 1942.  He was the second son of John and Helen Elliott’s five children.  He was raised in Wilmington and was a graduate of Wilmington High School.

Dick was married to Nancy Cutter for 53 years and together they raised three children; Scott, Gayle and David. Dick was employed as a truck driver for Charles River Labs for 23 years.  He supported his children and grandchildren in whatever sport they participated, whether it be coaching or just being there as a    proud dad and grandparent. He was an avid sports fan following all New England teams; especially the Bruins and Red Sox.

Fishing was another one of Dick’s passions; whether it was deep sea, lakes or rivers you could count him in.  Often he would be found at Plum Island and Cape Cod, anywhere with water, Dick would be looking to cast a reel.  When he wasn’t fishing, Dick could be found playing games on his computer.

Dick and Nancy loved to travel; cruises, Ireland, and one of their favorites vacation spots, Las Vegas.  They loved traveling with their sisters and brother-in-law, Roy and Carol Sarica and Priscilla Conroy.  Those trips meant so much to Dick and Nancy and as well as the memories they made on them.

Dick was the beloved husband of Nancy L. (Cutter) Elliott of Wilmington. He was the devoted father of Scott Elliott & his wife Sheryl of Wilmington, Gayle Mulligan & her husband James of Westford and David Elliott & his wife Donna of Londonderry, NH.  Dick was the loving “Gramp” of Christopher Elliott, Allie and Edward Silva, James, Richard and Michael Mulligan and David and Raymond Elliott.  Dick leaves behind 2 brothers and 2 sisters he was the special brother-in-law of Roy & Carol Sarica of Tewksbury and Priscilla Conroy of Plaistow, NH.  Dick is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Thursday, November 7th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington at 10:00 a.m.  Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.  Visiting hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 6th from 4-8 p.m.  Memorial donations in Dick’s name may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. were on the road for 4 days you still managed to make all our sports and whatever we had going on.Belive it or not i do remember simmer days at Silver lake my most fondest memories for me are by the lake. i know i was’nt the easiest son to raise, some would say veeeeeery stressful ,But you just shook your head and give me that look. i will miss you but hopefuly i will see you again And we will have a cast together
