Richard L. Snow

Richard L. “Richie” Snow, age 73, of Wilmington, formerly of Tewksbury, died unexpectedly, December 14, 2011, at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington.  Richie was born in Brighton, MA on November 2, 1938, he was the dear son of the late Frank P. and Elizabeth G. (VanStry) Snow. 
 
Richard married Beverly A. Barry on May 9, 1964, they lived in Cambridge for a couple of years before moving to Tewksbury where they resided for 24 years and raised their only child, a wonderful daughter Linda, she was the world to them. He was a long time parishioner at St. William’s Church in Tewksbury. Richard and Beverly lived in Wilmington for the past 23 years.
 
Richard was a hard worker, always providing a good life for his family, he was a truck driver for the Teamsters Union Local #25 in Charlestown for many years before retiring.  Richie was also a bartender and a long-time member of the Tewksbury Wilmington Lodge of Elks BPOE  #2070 in Tewksbury, he was very proud to be a member.  Richie loved spending time at the Elks and considered his fellow members  an “extended family”.
 
 
In his spare time, Richie followed baseball and was an avid football fan.  He enjoyed traveling to Florida and loved watching the sunsets with Beverly at his side. 
 
Richard’s passion was his family, his wife Beverly was the “love of his life”, his daughter Linda was his “pride and joy”, he found a “son” in his son-in-law Greg, and his grandchildren Nicholas, Matthew, and Allison, made him laugh and smile, he loved them unconditionally and cherished being their “Papa”, they will forever miss him.  Richie was always there for those he loved, he was a wonderful family man and a true friend to many.
 
Richie was the beloved husband of 47 years to Beverly A. (Barry) Snow, devoted father of Linda A. Boutoures and her husband Greg of Wilmington, loving “Papa” of Nicholas, Matthew, and Allison Boutoures, dear  brother of Beverly Milligan and her husband Joseph and Patricia Beek and her husband Borden all of Brockton, nephew of Lawrence Snow of Brockton, brother-in-law of Paul and Joanne Barry of Danvers, Joan Blaine of Wakefield, the late Leonard and Dorothy Barry, and Margaret and Phil Wall, Richard is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
 
Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Monday, December 19th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Williams Church, 1351 Main Street (Rte. 38), Tewksbury, MA 01876, at 10:00 a.m.  Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting hours Sunday, December 18th from 1-5 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Richard’s memory may be made to St. Williams Church.

    We are very sad about Richie’s passing. I have wonderful memories of those summer visits at 152 Pleasant Street and the great multi-family vacations in Maine that are now treasured thoughts.
    Our prayers go out to Bev, Linda, and family. Our hope is in our risen savior who has promised will meet again in glory. Until that time, we grieve our loss, but smile as we think of the joyous times with Richie.

    Sorry to hear of Richie’s passing. I met richie only a couple of times,but knew of him mostly thru his dad (Frank) who I worked and became friends with at Sears in Porter Square. Rest in Peace, Richie
