Phoebe (Palmer) Rideout, age 78, of Wilmington, died Monday, April 13, 2009, at the Winchester Hospital.
Born in Malden, MA, on March 23, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Philip & Alice (DeCatur) Palmer. Phoebe grew up in Malden and was educated there. She moved to Wilmington 51 years ago and was a member of the Wilmington United Methodist Church. Prior to retiring, Phoebe was a receptionist for two local dentists, she worked for Wilmington Answering Service, and at Walmart in North Reading, retiring in 2004. In her spare time, Phoebe liked to knit, crochet, and do all kinds of needlework.
Phoebe was the beloved wife of the late Edward H. Rideout, devoted mother of Judith Twomey of Lawrence, Janet Hall of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Edward Rideout of Tennessee, and the late Leida Paquin, loving grandmother of 5 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, dear sister of Lois Steele of Reading and Hazel Palmer of Bedford.
Graveside Services will be held at Wildwood Cemetery, Wildwood Street, Wilmington, on Friday, April 17th, at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers donations in Phoebe’s memory may be made to the American Lung Association, 460 Totten Pond Road, Suite 400, Waltham, MA 02451.
