Robert was the beloved husband of Cheryl A. (Chisholm) Towers, devoted father of Matthew Towers & his wife Kristine of Walpole and Michael Towers & his wife Wendi of Woburn, loving “Papa” of Jack and Ryan Towers, cherished son of the late John and Phyllis (Jordan) Towers, dear brother of Arthur Towers & his wife Debbie of Moultonborough, NH and the late Barbara Gallant of Saugus. Robert is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Robert “Bob” was a man of integrity, honesty and loyalty. Bob loved life and cherished his family and friends. He proudly and honorably served his country in the Army’s 1st Squadron, 4th Cavalry, during the Vietnam War. He received two Bronze Stars with V Device, a Purple Heart and an Air Medal with 4 oak leaf clusters. His dedication to protecting the values of his Country were known to all.
Bob attended Saugus High, Salem State and Northeast Technical Institute. Bob started his career as a Mechanical Draftsman with Raytheon and retired after 36 years at General Electric in Lynn. Though his retirement wasn’t long, Bob and his wife, Cheryl, spent these years traveling and enjoying summers in Georgetown, Prince Edward Island. Bob spent a lot of time making memories with his sons, Matt and Mike, and enjoying his grandsons, Jack and Ryan, of whom he was extremely proud. Bob’s family will hold dear the memories of the “Towers Christmas” that included overflowing baskets made with care for each by Papa and never-ending gifts and family fun. His thoughtfulness and generosity are the foundation of his family.

Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Service at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Monday, November 3rd at 10:00 a.m. Interment with Military Honors to follow at the Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
