Robert J. Malatesta

Robert J. Malatesta, age 53, of Wilmington, passed away surrounded by his loving family on December 24, 2017.

Robert was the beloved husband of Kelly (Dwyer) Malatesta, devoted father of Jordan Malatesta, Zachary Malatesta, Devyn Malatesta and Domenic Malatesta all of Wilmington, cherished son of Bobby and Carol (McNamara) Malatesta of Malden, dear brother of Carolann Malatesta of Malden, Sharon Neal & her husband Paul of Wilmington and Barbara Hardiman & her husband Marty of Wakefield, son-in-law of Patricia Dwyer of Randolph. Robert is also survived by many loving brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews and his beloved dog, Oreo Malatesta.

Family & friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Saturday, December 30th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Dorothy’s Church, Main St. (Rte. 38), Wilmington at 10:00 a.m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting Hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday, December 29th from 4:00-8:00 p.m.

Memorial donations in Robert’s name may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network at pancan.org/donate or through the mail at 1500 Rosecrans Ave., Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266.

    With Bobby’s passing, the world has lost one of it’s all-time greatest laughs. I will always remember that laugh, and how it would come bursting out of him- a raucous exclamation point of hilarity to punctuate one of his stories. “Bad head” you will be missed, brother.
