Robert K. Sferrazza

August 24th, 2018

Robert K. Sferrazza, “Bob”, age 59, of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly at home on August 23, 2018.

Bob was born on January 24, 1959; he was the dear son of the late Frank and Isabel Sferrazza. Bob was raised and educated in Wilmington and a graduate of Wilmington High School with the Class of 1977. Bob was known to be quite an athlete throughout his life; he excelled at Pop Warner Football, Wilmington High Football and Wilmington High Track. While in his senior year as a Wilmington Wildcat Football player, Bob was chosen to play in the Harry Agganis Bowl which consisted of the most elite All-Star football players in the State. Bob was later inducted into the Wilmington Hall of Fame in recognition of his athletic ability as well as the many attributes he brought to his teams at Wilmington High School.

Bob left Wilmington for several years and moved down to Florida where he started his own construction company known as Sunrise Construction. Bob worked hard and played hard; he loved the warm weather that brought him down south and enjoyed every day in the sun and fun.

Bob also went out to California for a while and settled in Los Angeles. He tried his hand at acting and really enjoyed the experience as well as the people he met and worked with. Bob had a part in the Muppets Movie as well as a cameo in a Doritoes commercial; he was really thrilled with the opportunities he had to work in the movie industry and was equally thrilled with the famous people he got to meet and work with. Bob eventually made his way back home to Wilmington to be closer to his family and really enjoyed getting to “hang out” with his nieces and nephews.

Bob was a “free spirit” who loved life and knew how to have a good time. He enjoyed riding his Harley every chance he got, and he loved making his yearly trip to Laconia, New Hampshire for biker weekend. Bob was a “character” who had a great personality and made friends wherever he went. Bob was a “kid at heart” who had an infectious smile and an ability to make everyone feel welcome. Bob will forever be missed by his loving family and dear friends.

Bob was the cherished son of the late Francis “Frank” and Isabel (Barrett) Sferrazza, beloved brother of Donna Andrews and her husband Richard of Lowell, Wayne Sferrazza of Las Vegas, Paul Sferrazza and his wife Karen and Sandra Langenfeld and her husband John all of Wilmington. Loving Uncle of Heather, Kristi, Paul Jr., Scott, Jennifer, John, Deven, Steven and Great-Uncle of Kevin and Caitlyn. Bob is further survived by many cousins and friends.

Family and friends will gather for Visiting Hours at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Sunday, August 26th from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the Wilmington Hall of Fame, 2 Draper Drive, Wilmington, MA 01887.
