Robert T. Pierce,“Bob” age 58 of Wilmington, formerly of Cambridge, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on April 25, 2016, following a courageous battle with brain cancer.

Bob was born on September 25, 1965, in Cambridge, MA; he was the cherished son of the Joan M. (Dupont) and the late Clyde A. Pierce. Bob was raised and educated in Cambridge and a graduate of Cambridge High and Latin High School with the Class of 1975.

Bob married his “sweetheart” Patty McMahon in April of 1985; just celebrating their 31st wedding anniversary. Bob and Patty shared many great times together over the years with their family and friends. The couple moved to Wilmington in 1991 where they raised two beautiful daughters, Rachel and Collette; Bob loved being a dad and he was always so proud of his girls.

Bob worked hard for his family in the construction business. His great personality and work ethic landed him countless jobs in the carpentry field. Bob worked all over the area roofing, building decks and porches, installing windows just to name a few areas; he was very loyal and friendly to his customers and he built a great reputation throughout the years.

In his spare time Bob enjoyed golfing, watching sports, and taking to the open road on his Harley with his buddies.

Bob treasured the time spent with family and friends; his love for them was evident in everything he did. Bob was dependable, loyal, and kind; he was a fighter who never gave up hope as his illness progressed. Bob was truly an amazing man who was dearly loved and will forever be missed.

Bob was the beloved husband of Patricia “Patty” (McMahon) Pierce, devoted father of Rachel P. and Collette M. Pierce all of Wilmington, cherished son of Joan M. (Dupont) Pierce and the late Clyde A. Pierce of Cambridge, dear brother of Sheryl Callahan & husband Robert of No. Carolina. Uncle of Caroline Callahan, Kerry & Christopher Fanning, and Andrew McMahon, nephew of Carolyn Cabral of Somerville and George Dupont of Texas, cousin of Michael Cabral, Richard Cabral, and Sharon Capasso. Brother-in-law of James & the late Susan McMahon and Leonard & Mary Ellen McMahon all of West Roxbury and Catherine & James Fanning of Saugus. Bob is also survived by many dear friends.

Family and friends will gather for a Funeral Service on Friday, April 29th at 11:00 a.m. in the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington. Visiting Hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, April 28th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Bob’s memory may be made to the National Brain Tumor Society, 55 Chapel Street, Suite 200, Newton, MA 02458.

    Bob was a unique individual. He cherished his family, enjoyed times with friends, and found time for those that needed him. His passing will leave a horrendous void in a lot of lives.
