robertsronRonald A. Roberts, age 71, of Dracut, formerly of Wilmington, died Wednesday, May 27, 2009, peacefully at home surrounded by his whole family.

Born in Woburn, MA, on July 5, 1937, Ron was the dear son of the late William and Mary J. (Quinn) Roberts. He grew up in Reading and was a graduate of Reading High School. Ron lived in Wilmington for many years before moving to Dracut. Prior to retirement, Ron owned and operated Commercial Steele Company in Lynn, MA.

In his spare time Ron enjoyed mini golfing with his brothers and sons, playing pool and cards, and spending time with his family. He will be remembered by family and friends as an animal lover, talented builder, very giving, and being knowledgeable on many subjects and for his devotion to his family and those he loved.

Ron was the beloved husband of Jacqueline (Doucette) Roberts, devoted father of Donald Roberts, David Roberts & his wife Michelle, Deborah Cipriani & her husband Paul all of Wilmington, Donna Nordlinger & her husband Frank of Lunenburg, John Barry of California, Jimmy Barry & his wife Linda, Heidi Donato, and Shaun Barry all of Dracut, Chanthon Ly, Alexandria Richard, Miguel Pena, and Ryan Ahearn, loving grandfather of Kristin Perrine & her husband Victor, Meredith Cipriani, Dillan Roberts, John Thomas Barry, and Gianna Lynne Donato, dear brother of Richard Roberts & his wife Kate of North Reading, Kenneth Roberts & his wife Nita of Salem, NH, Claire Partridge of Maine, Donald Roberts of Woburn, and the late William Roberts, Virginia Nickerson, Margie Greenleaf, and Neil Roberts, Ron is also survived by his former wife and friend Elizabeth “Betty” Roberts of Wilmington and many nieces and nephews.

His Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 1st at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, at 11:00 a.m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting hours Sunday, May 31st from 4-8 p.m.

Memorial donations in Ronald’s name may be made to North East Rehabilitation Hospital, Patient Fund, 70 Butler St., Salem, NH  03079.
