March 3rd, 2018

Rosa A. Sadowski (Amaro), age 86, a life-long resident of Wilmington, MA and Marco Island, FL, passed away unexpectedly on February 28, 2018.

Rosa was born on May 22, 1931 in Cambridge, MA; she was the dear daughter of the late John and Orginia (Santos) Amaro. Rosa was raised and educated in Wilmington; she was a graduate of Wilmington High School with the Class of 1949.

In 1952, Rosa married her high school sweetheart and best friend, Edward S. Sadowski. Rosa and Eddie made a wonderful home in Wilmington where their door was always open to family and friends. Rosa and Eddie had two beautiful daughters, Rosann and Leeann whom she adored. When Rosa became “Grandee” to her grandchildren she was just elated; she spent many years going to dance recitals, sporting and school events; she was always their biggest fan. Rosa showered her family with unconditional love and support throughout their lives; she would do anything to make her family happy and she was so proud of each one of them.

Rosa was the ultimate hostess who loved to entertain her family and friends for holidays, special occasions, Plum Island barbeques or Sunday dinner no matter the occasion she always put on quite a feast. Rosa was an amazing cook and baker; she made platters looks so beautiful you just hated to cut into them but they were so delicious you couldn’t wait to eat them. Everyone looked forward to one of Rosa’s parties; she always made everyone feel special, welcomed, and loved in her home.

Rosa’s talents didn’t stop at cooking and being a wonderful hostess; she was also a master seamstress who could whip up an outstanding outfit in no time. Rosa had quite a fashion sense and she always looked amazing wherever she went.

Prior to retiring, Rosa worked for the Wilmington Public Schools as a secretary for more than thirty years. Rosa loved her job; she had an incredible work ethic and a wonderful personality to deal with the public. Rosa enjoyed her relationships she formed with her co-workers as well as her students; she was a second mother and mentor to many of them throughout the years. Rosa formed a special bond and friendship with her co-workers and students; many of them became life-long friends and still visited her regularly.

Rosa and Eddie loved to travel; they made their second home at Marco Island, F.L for the past twenty-six years where they made an extended family of close friends. They also enjoyed many trips with their family and friends to Europe, the Caribbean, Cruises, or annual trips to Plum Island; everyone always had a great time with Rosa and Eddie.

Rosa will be fondly remembered as a beautiful lady inside and out; her kindness towards others was evident in everything she did. Rosa loved her family and friends with all her heart and she will forever be missed by all.

Rosa was the beloved wife and best friend of Edward S. Sadowski, cherished mother of Rosann Guarino & her husband Mark and Leeann Sadowski all of Wilmington. Loving “Grandee” of Tarryn Guarino & her wife Dede and Evan Guarino all of Cambridge and Jonathan Sadowski of Wilmington. I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. Every time I go by the Boutwell school I have often thought of her and how she always made each child feel like she was their mom away from home. Always had the best hugs. She was truly one in a million. You were all blessed to have the time with her as you did. She will be missed by many. She was a very beautiful person. My prayers go out to you and the family.
