Rose M. Raposo

Rose M. Raposo (DiTucci), age 86, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at the Winchester Hospital on October 15, 2017.

Rose was born on September 23, 1931, in Malden, MA; she was the cherished daughter of the late Salvatore and Mary (Petrillo) DiTucci. Rose was raised and educated in Somerville, MA; she was a talented Saxophone player and while she was in the Somerville High School Band she met her “sweetheart” Paul Raposo.

Rose and Paul married in 1951 and together they raised three wonderful children; Paul, Kathleen, and Steven. Rose was a very devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a wonderful homemaker. She was also a talented seamstress in Wilmington for many years.

Rose was the beloved wife of the late Paul M. Raposo, devoted mother of Paul Raposo and Juli of New Hampshire, Kathleen Raposo, and Steven Raposo & wife Tina of Wilmington. Loving Grandmother of Sherry Raposo, Cassandra Raposo, Tony Raposo, Sean Hickford, Danielle Cotton, Steven Raposo and the late Krystal Raposo. Rose is also survived by several Great-Grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Friday, October 20th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Dorothy’s Church, Main Street (Rte. 38) Wilmington at 10:00 a.m. Interment will take place in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting Hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday, October 19th from 4:00-8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donation in Rose’s memory may be made to the Wilmington Senior Center, 15 School Street, Wilmington, MA 01887.
