Sandra M. (Vona) Groves

Sandra M. (Vona) Groves, age 63, of Wilmington, went to be with The Lord on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Winchester Hospital.

Sandra was born on August 1, 1950, in Revere, MA; she was the cherished daughter of Helen G. (Chase) Vona–Levens of Stoneham and the late Salvador Vona.

Sandra will be remembered as a loving mother, wife, friend and thoughtful and giving neighbor.

Sandra was the loving mother of Ryan C. Groves and Lauren M. O’Brien and her husband Scott, husband and friend of Don M. Groves of New Hampshire, dear sister of Richard Vona of Rhode Island and special aunt of Melissa Vona.  Sandra is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Family and friends will gather for Visitation on Saturday, January 4th, at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.  immediately followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Rev. Ron Grimley.

    I have a lot of fond memories of Sandy, especially her great sense of humor and her infectious laugh. But what I truly remember most is her thoughtful, caring and generous ways. Rest in peace Sandy.
