Steven R. Pellerin, fondly known as “Mouse” or “Uncle Steve” to his family, extended family and friends, age 61, a life-long resident of Wilmington, passed away on May 17, 2020, at the Winchester Hospital, following a brief battle with cancer.
Steve was born on April 2, 1959, in Somerville, MA; he was the dear son of the late Roland “Jack” and Lorraine (Snow) Pellerin. Steve was raised and educated in Wilmington and a graduate of Wilmington High School with the Class of 1977.
Following graduation, Steve, went to work in the family business, Pellerin Brothers Painting, a well known and respected family business in town. Steve was taught by his grandfather, father and his uncles to work hard, be meticulous with your job, be fair and to treat your customers with respect; these were all attributes that have made their painting company a success for generations. Steve took his job to heart and was still working hard right up until a month ago when his illness forced him to step back.
Family was very important to Steve, in June of 1984, he married his true love and best friend Sharon Reinbolt; together they raised two sons Steven and Shayne, they were his pride and joy. Steve was very involved with “his boys” and was always there to help them in any way. Steve went on to coach their youth hockey teams with one of his best friends Bob and enjoyed every moment of it. When Steve became “Papa” he was thrilled, first he got his two princesses Sienna and Carley and then came his adored twins Austin and Blake; Steve cherished the time he spent with those kids and his face lit up when he spoke of them.
In his spare time, Steve, enjoyed traveling with family and friends. A few of his favorite spots were Aruba and Ossipee Lake. He also loved to play cards and thoroughly enjoyed his Friday night group of poker players/ long time acquaintances. Steve was always on board for a trip to the nearest casino or race track.
Steve will be fondly remembered as a “great guy” who was well loved by everyone; he was kind toward others by nature and never had a bad thing to say of others. Steve loved spending time with his family, extended family, and large circle of friends; he was a fun guy to be around and although a man of few words, his quick wit and one liners would make everyone roar with laughter. Steve’s passing has left a huge void in the lives of those he touched and will forever be in the hearts of those that had the pleasure of knowing him.
Steve was the beloved husband of Sharon (Reinbolt) Pellerin, devoted father of Steven C. Pellerin and his wife Casey and Shayne M. Pellerin and his companion Cameron Woodbury all of Wilmington. Loving “Papa” of Sienna, Carley, Austin and Blake, dear brother of John Pellerin and his companion Nancy of North Reading, Lisa Pijoan and her husband Timothy and their children Matthew and Melissa of Wilmington and Nancy Pellerin of North Reading. Son-in-law of Jeanne Reinbolt of Wilmington. Steve is also survived by his “adopted daughter” Tyler Carlson Butler and her beautiful family Nick, Whitney and Lainey. He was “Uncle Steve” to many and is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers and sisters-in law, nieces, nephews and friends.
A graveside service will take place in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington, on Friday, May 22nd at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Steve’s memory may be made to the Floating Hospital for Children at Tuft’s Medical Center, Attn: Development Office, 800 Washington St., Box #231, Boston, MA 02111.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Nichols Funeral Home, Wilmington, MA. www.nicholsfuneralhome.com

Hello Sharon, John, Lisa, Friends and Family of Steve:
I am deeply saddened to learn of Steve’s illness and passing I would like to extend my deepest sympathy, condolence and prayer.
One of my best memories in life was my time playing hockey and especially as a line mate of Steve’s. He always had a guick wit when we’d come off a shift gassed. Possessed a great work ethic in practice and was doggedly determined to win! I was elated when Gerry McPhee made us the penalty killing unit. We would get the puck to mid ice, skate around the other team’s usually bigger players and we two smallest, would “rag” it, with quick skating and sharp passing, thoroughly tick-off the opposition. It was great fun.
Please know that I speak for many others on those teams who share my feelings toward Steve.
My prayers will remain with you now and in the times ahead.
All My Best,
Matt Donnelly
My condolences to Steve’s family…RIP Steve
