Taylor, Charles

Charles Robert Taylor, Sr., age 77, of Nashua, NH, formerly of Wilmington, died peacefully, on Tuesday, June 1, 2010, at the Tilton Veterans Home in Tilton, NH after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Born on November 6, 1932 in Somerville, MA, Charles was the dear son of the late Ernest and Jane Taylor. He grew up in Burlington, MA and was a graduate of Burlington High School. Charles was drafted into the United States Army and proudly served the country during the Korean War. After returning from the war he continued his education at Wentworth College and Northeastern University in Boston.

Charles and his loving wife Dot were longtime Wilmington residents where they raised their 8 children. They retired to Bridgewater, NH and then Nashua, NH. Charles was an avid golfer, skilled carpenter, and a devoted family man. He retired as a district sales manager of Richmond Screw Anchor Company after many years of dedicated service.

Charles is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years Dorothy G. “Dot” (O’Brien), he was the devoted father of Barbara Lucas & her husband Glen of Bridgewater, NH, Cheryl Keegan & her husband John of Pepperell, Katherine Arlander & her husband Lance of Danvers, Jane Tometich & her husband Leo of Dunstable, Susan Gasser & her husband Robert of Vienna, VA, Charles R. Taylor, Jr. of Wilmington, William Taylor & his wife Patricia of Billerica, Thomas Taylor & Karen Hill of Stoneham. He was the loving grandfather of Kerrin (Lucas) Rounds, Glen Lucas, Stephen Peterson, Edward and Carolyn Keegan, Justin and Sara Tometich, Mary, Rob, Maggie, Katie, and Theresa Gasser, Kyle, Derrick, Brandon, and Zachary Taylor, William, Alison, and Lauren Taylor, and great-grandson Corey Taylor, dear brother of James Taylor and his wife Kathy of Chelmsford, the late Ernest Taylor, and Joan Ferro, brother-in-law of William and Vera O’Brien of Woburn, David and Dianna O’Brien of Cincinnati, OH, and the late Barbara Harris.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Saturday, June 5th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington at 10:00 a.m. Interment in the family lot at Calvary Cemetery, Woburn. Visiting hours Friday, June 4th from 4-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donation in Charles name may be made to NH Veterans Home, 139 Winter St., Tilton, NH 03276 or to Impact Autism Foundation, Inc., 7795 Five Mile Road, Cincinnati, OH 45236.
