Theresa “Terri” Beckham

Theresa Ann “Terri” (Ohanesian) Beckham, 88, passed away peacefully, on October 16, 2019 at her home in Taylors, SC.

Born on May 4, 1931 in Medford, MA to the late Aram Harold and Theresa M. Ohanesian. Loving sister to Arlene McGrane of Methuen, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late James A Beckham for 48 years. Loving mother to her daughters Charlene (William) Silk of N Andover, MA, Patricia Beckham of Taylors, SC, and Linda (William) Koenig of Taylors, SC. Devoted grandmother to Jessica, Joseph, and Bradley Silk all of Brooklyn, NY. Loving mother in law to Robert Catanzano of N. Andover, MA. Beloved aunt to John McGrane and Christine Fritz. She was predeceased by a daughter, Lee Catanzano and one sister, Joyce Ohanesian.

Terri grew up in Arlington, MA and raised her family in Peabody, MA before she relocated to Taylors, SC in 2008. Terri worked for several companies in MA as an administrative assistant before retiring including; J Homestock, Martin Marrietta, Xcel Energy, Converse, and Sylvania.

Terri “Grams” adored her grandchildren and loved spending time with them. They have fond memories of weekends spent with her, including trips to the White Mountains, watching “Golden Girls”, cookouts in the backyard, and her teaching them how to make baklava.

Terri loved her family deeply, she fought hard for those she loved and lovingly provided care to her mother, sister, and husband when they were ill. Known for her kindness, graciousness, and quick wit she will be greatly missed by all that had the pleasure to know her.

Terri was an avid gardener, cat lover, and Patriots fan. She loved that moving to South Carolina afforded her more time to spend in the garden and tend to her treasured hummingbirds. She particularly enjoyed visiting the Masai giraffes at the Greenville Zoo.

Dementia stole her mind but not her spirit – a true fighter to the end. She was a special lady who touched many hearts and made an impression on many people.

Family will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Tuesday, October 29th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave, Wilmington at 10:00 a.m. Friends are invited to the church. Interment will be at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting Hours for friends and family will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, October 28th from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
