Tracy C. Witham

Tracy C. Witham, age 57, of Lawrence, formerly a long-time resident of Wilmington, died peacefully with his loving family at his side on December 26, 2016, at the Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence, MA.

Tracy was born in Woburn, MA, on December 2, 1959; he was the dear son of the late Stanley E. and Helen C. (Smith) Witham. Tracy was raised in Wilmington and attended Wilmington Public Schools.

He enlisted in the United States Army Reserve in 1979 but soon after was called to active duty by the Army. Tracy served overseas in Germany for two years before returned to the United States. He was honorably discharged from active duty in April of 1981 and completed his reserve duties in 1984.

For many years, Tracy worked as a machinist at the NECCO Company before his illness forced him to retire.

Tracy is survived by his son Brian E. Witham of Wilmington, his sisters Janet Hawes of Oregon and Beverly Downs & husband Bill of Lowell, his former wife Carolyn (Covello) Witham as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews. Tracy was also brother of the late Stanley E. Witham Jr., Eugene Witham, and Dale (Witham) Kleynen.

A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held in the spring at the Wildwood Cemetery in Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers donations in Tracy’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Nichols Funeral Home, Wilmington, MA.
