Veloza, Anna

Anna M. Veloza, of Wilmington, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on April 15, 2010 at the age of 86.

Born on April 1, 1924, Anna was the daughter of the late Peter and Lenora Michalkiewicz. She was raised in Cambridge and attended private school. Upon her graduation, Anna went on to the Wilford Academy in Boston and received an associates degree in hairdressing. She was a hard working woman, spending over 35 years in hairdressing and also earning her Real Estate License.

She moved to Wilmington with her family in 1955. In addition to her career, Anna enjoyed cooking and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be sorely missed by all of them.

Anna was the beloved wife of the late George Veloza. They enjoyed 64 years of marriage together until his passing in 2008.

Anna is survived by her children: Susan Lesperance and her husband Tony and George R. Veloza and his wife Lee all of Wilmington. Her grandchildren: Michelle Cincotta, Michael L’Esperance, David Lesperance, Anthony Lesperance, Jr., Charles Veloza, Karen Veloza, and Kerry Veloza. Great grandchildren: Nichole and Gina Cincotta; Andrew, Mary Kate and Cassaundra Lesperance; Samantha, Rachael, Erica, Maxwell and Alyssa Lesperance; Brian and Sabrina Veloza; and Dominic and Jada Veloza. Anna was also the sister of Helen Bergman of Wilmington, and the late Peter Michaels, Andrew Mitchell and Nell Sawicki. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service from the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rt. 62), Wilmington, on Thursday, April 22, at 12:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Memorial donations in Anna’s name may be made to VNA of Middlesex-East and Visiting Nurse Hospice, 607 North Ave., Suite 17, Wakefield, MA 01880.
