Vera A. Pozzi-Euefueno

April 13th, 2012
Vera A. (Faiella ) Pozzi-Euefueno, of Port Charlotte, FL, formerly of Wilmington, MA, died peacefully surrounded by her family on April 12, 2012.

Vera was born in Boston, MA, on October 25, 1939, she was the cherished daughter of the late Lucia (Piscatelli) Faiella. Vera was raised in the Roslindale and Hyde Park Sections of Boston, she graduated from Hyde Park High School with the Class of 1958. Vera furthered her education at the Lemuel Shattuck Hospital where she earned a LPN Degree in 1962. Vera was an excellent nurse, she loved and cared for her patients always treating them with dignity and respect.

Then came motherhood, Vera’s greatest accomplishment, she was very devoted to her three children, there wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them, she loved them unconditionally.

When Vera became a “Noni” she was astatic, her grandchildren brought her so much joy and she was very proud of each and every one of them, they lit up her world.

Vera was a very hard worker, after raising her children she returned to the working world as an Administrative Assistant for Preston Trucking. Vera was a very dedicated employee and her office skills were exceptional.

Vera will be fondly remembered as an “amazing cook”, her family and friends looked forward to having dinner at Vera’s or sharing a holiday feast that she would prepare. Vera also enjoyed reading, traveling with family and friends, and she was quite a movie “buff”.

Vera’s greatest quality was her ability to “mother everyone”, family and friends alike felt the love and warmth of her heart, not to mention an opinion or two when needed. She made people feel special in their own way and they will truly miss her.

Vera was the beloved wife of William D. Euefueno, devoted mother of Lu-Ann Pozzi & her partner Steven Munevar of Worcester, Christopher Pozzi & his wife Julie and Richard Pozzi, Jr. & his wife Melissa all of Wilmington, loving “Noni” of Jonathan, Heather, John, and April, dear sister of Michael Faiella & his wife Ellen of Lynn, Cecelia Mitchell of Plymouth, Joma Faiella of Cheyenne, WY, and the late Charlotte Collins, niece of Thomas & Dottie Piscatelli of Medford, Joe & Katy Piscatelli of Rhode Island, Mike & Linda Piscatelli of No. Andover, the late Ann & John Giunta, and the late Mary & her husband Pete Gagne. Vera is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Tuesday, April 17th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington at 10:00 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 16th from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in Vera’s name may be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Center, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA 02115.

  26. Joe and Sue Passalacqua, Josh, Luke and AJ says:

Our Deepest Sympathy to Bill and all of your family. Vera was a wonderful lady with a huge heart that cared for others and the gift to cook. We had to be the luckiest—- to be the next door neighbors to Bill, Vera and Otis at the Petaluma Coast Guard Base. Our boys called them Fono 1 and Fono 2. The Aroma of Italian Cooking was always hovering around us. On many occassions we were invited over and had many opportunities to have their delicious cooking and of course some of that dangerous Lemoncello too. AJ our youngest was especially a frequent dinner guest. At the age of 3 he would check out what was cooking at our house and then go to the Fono’s, and would stay for their dinner instead of ours….. Love you Vera- You already have your wings…………

  27. Karin, John and Bella Niece says:

Our Deepest Sympathy to Bill, Lu-Ann, Chris, RJ and Family. When I first met Vera, I knew we would be instant friends..two feisty Italian women with thick accents who weren’t afraid to say what they were thinking…a match made in heaven, that was 15 years ago, and while the Coast Guard sent us in different directions we were lucky enough to see one another here and there over the years and reconnect. When I think of her it is always with a smile on her face, surrounded by wonderful friends, laughter, good food and yes a little Lemoncello. At this difficult time take comfort in knowing that Vera loved you deeply and was so proud of all of you and what you had accomplished in life. She was a wonderful woman with an enormous heart and will be missed by many.
