voner, michaelMichael E. Voner, age 54, of Wilmington, died unexpectedly, Monday, May 18, 2009, at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington.

Born on October 12, 1954, in Boston, MA, Michael was the beloved son of Rita M. (Murphy) Voner and the late Francis Voner. Michael was a life-long resident of Wilmington and a graduate of Wilmington High School. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War active duty from October of 1974 through October of 1978 and honorably discharged as a Sergeant in July of 1980. Michael was self-employed as a carpenter for many years and in his spare time he loved listening to music, cooking, and traveling. His devotion for his family was unwavering and he dedicated much of his life to taking care of his mother Rita, he was the “best son” she could possibly have had. Michael will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Michael is survived by his mother Rita M. (Murphy) Voner of Wilmington, he was the dear brother of Mary Hall & her husband Arthur of Livermore, ME, formerly of Wilmington, the late Carole Cote, Joseph Voner, and Frank Voner, loving uncle of Michael Hall & his wife Cynthia of Livermore Falls, ME, Joseph Hall & his wife Debra of Lunenburg, MA, Jeffrey Cote of Billerica, and the late Kimberly Hall, great-uncle of Jessica Lynne & Michael Anthony Hall and Taylor Lynne & Nicholas Joseph Hall, brother-in-law of Robert Cote of Billerica, Michael is also survived by many dear friends.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Thursday, May 21st for visiting hours from 11:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m. followed by a Funeral Home Service at 1:30 p.m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.

Memorial donations in Michael’s name may be made to St. Dorothy’s Church, 11 Harnden St., Wilmington, MA 01887.
