William J. Carroll, “Bill”, age 54, of Chester, NH, formerly a long-time resident of Wilmington, MA, passed away unexpectedly due to injuries sustained in an accident on December 4, 2021.

Bill was raised and educated in Wilmington; he attended Wilmington Public Schools, played youth sports and graduated from Shawsheen Tech High School in Billerica with the Class of 1985.
Bill was a hard worker in the construction field throughout his life. He worked for several different companies before taking a job at the SPS New England Company, where he was actively involved in Bridge Construction and repairs. Bill’s hard work, dedication and knowledge of his profession was evident in everything he did; Bill worked his way through the ranks and was currently a Supervisor for the Company at the time of his passing. Bill formed many great friendships with his co-workers through the years; some he considered extended family.
Bill married his “sweetheart and best friend” Pamela Murray in November of 1989; the couple raised two wonderful children and shared many great times with their family and friends throughout the years. Bill also enjoyed his role as “Papa” to his three grandchildren whom he adored.
In his spare time, Bill, loved to be out on the water boating on Winnisquam Lake or heading out on his many camping excursions at their camp on Winnisquam Lake in Belmont, New Hampsire, with his family or his buddies. He loved following his Boston sports teams; especially “his” New England Patriots and looked forward to going to many Pats home games at Gillette Stadium throughout the years.
Bill will be fondly remembered as a “great guy” and a hard worker who would go out of his way to help anyone. He was kind and friendly towards everyone he met and loved his family and friends unconditionally. Bill’s sudden passing will leave a huge void in the lives of those he touched; he will forever be remembered, loved and missed by all.

Sorry for your loss, it will be felt by so many. Bill was a phenomenal human. It is still surreal. It’s really going to set in when I go to make that call on my commute home where he would usually get me to my driveway on many, many occasions. Thoughts and prayers, don’t hesitate to reach out if I can do anything to help you out.
Pam, I am so very sorry for you and your family’s loss. I have only the best memories of spending time with you guys. The Lynyrd Skynrd Concert was such a fun and awesome experience. You both were so accommodating letting us stay at your camper for the night. Bill was such a nice guy and did sooo much for Chris. He looked up to him so much and valued his friendship greatly. He only ever had great things to say about him and how he got to where he is today because of his help through the years. God Bless you and your family. My prayers are with you.
