William J. Dalesio Sullivan

August 13th, 2019

William J. Dalesio Sullivan, “Billy”, age 48, of Lowell, passed away surrounded by his loving family on August 12, 2019 at the Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln, MA.

Billy was born on September 1, 1970 in Lowell, MA; he was the cherished son of Donna M. (Dalesio) Sullivan of Lowell. Billy was raised in Lowell and graduated from Lowell High School in 1989.

While attending Lowell High from 1987-1989, Billy had an impressive wrestling career; he was coached by his dear friend, Coach George Bossi, who made a huge impact on Billy’s wrestling accomplishments. Throughout his first three years of wrestling as a “Red Raider”, Billy competed and won the State and New England Championships. During his senior year, Billy served as the Captain of the team. As a returning state champion, Billy led the way for the other teammates and completed an undefeated season of 45-0, which won him many titles, including “Wrestler of the Year”. Aside from capturing the State and New England heavyweight championship titles, Billy also placed in the National Championships three times. He concluded his wrestling career competing internationally in Belgium.

Following graduation, Billy furthered his education in Illinois. He took some college courses before returning home. He then went to work as an independent contractor in the construction field for many years.

Billy was so proud to become a Dad when his son, Adam, was born in 2007. Adam was the light of Billy’s life and he cherished all the time they spent together. Whether they were watching a sporting event or just hanging around the house, it didn’t matter; Billy and Adam had a great time.

In his spare time, Billy loved the outdoors; he loved snowmobiling up North with his closest friends. He also enjoyed taking rides to the beach, especially Hampton Beach, with his younger brother, Timmy. Billy found the beach to be a peaceful place where he could relax and spend time with Timmy.

Billy will be remembered for his love of sports; he was an avid Boston sports fan who loved to watch his beloved Patriots and Red Sox with his family and friends. He also continued his love of wrestling; he was always willing to give pointers to the kids who were just starting out. Billy loved to share his own experiences and teach the kids some tricks he learned throughout his career.

Billy was kind, loving and a true friend to many. He was always willing to help anyone in need, whether it was a helping hand or a listening ear, Billy was always available. He will be missed by his family and friends.

Billy’s family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Tufts Medical Center in Boston and Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln, MA for all of their kindness and compassion during this difficult time.

Billy was the devoted father of Adam Dalesio of Nashua, NH, cherished son of Donna M. (Dalesio) Sullivan and her partner Charles “Chicky” Sullivan of FL, dear brother of Michelle Nutt & her husband Charles of Lowell, Melissa Smith & her husband Robert of Billerica, MaryJane Lugo & her husband Benjamin of Nashua and Timmy Sullivan & his wife Jenn of Lowell, loving uncle of Alexis, Haley, Jack, Cameron, Benny, Jeffrey, Alivia and T.J., great-uncle of McKenzie, grandson of “Nana Lil” of Nashua. Billy is survived by his former spouse and friend, Patricia Hoyt, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and his dear friend, Coach Bossi of Lowell High School. Billy was predeceased by his two loving uncles, Dommy and Sonny.

Family and friends will gather for visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Sunday, August 18th from 12:00 – 4:00 p.m. immediately followed by a Funeral Home Service at 4:00 p.m.
