William W. “Bill” Dubois

August 1st, 2021

William W. “Bill” Dubois, age 60, of Wilmington, passed away unexpectedly at his home on July 28, 2021.

Bill was born on September 24, 1960, in Manchester, NH; he was the son of the late Donald J. and Geraldine (Wagner) Dubois. Bill was raised in North Reading and graduated from the Northeast Regional Vocational School.

Following graduation, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Army on November 20, 1980. He was deployed to Germany, where he served in the Military Police, a job Bill truly loved. Bill was honorably discharged on November 19, 1983 and returned home to his family.

Bill moved to Wilmington, where he raised two children, Shannon and Kyle. He loved being a dad, whether it was driving them to school or attending school activities or sporting events.

Bill loved to help others in need; he volunteered at St. Thomas of Villanova Church and the Knights of Columbus Hall. He volunteered his time in Kentucky where he helped to rebuild homes that were destroyed in natural disasters. Knowing that he could use help, Bill’s nephew, Andrew, took the ride with him to Kentucky. They had a great experience rebuilding homes for others.

Bill’s military service always remained close to his heart. “Once a soldier, always a soldier.” Bill took great pride in helping other soldiers; he volunteered as an advocate for the Veterans. He would do anything necessary to help a Veteran in need.

In his spare time, Bill enjoyed taking care of his garden and fixing things around the house. He was also a huge New England Sports Fan; he watched countless games with family and friends.

Bill was the father of Shannon DuBois and Kyle DuBois, dear brother of Donna Bakas & her husband Mark of Georgetown and Thomas Dubois of Lawrence, uncle of Andrew Bakas & his wife Val and their son Damon, Matthew Bakas, David Bakas, Katie St. Pierre & her husband Matthew and their son Hunter, Amy Dubois, and Michael Dubois & his wife LTJG Hannah Dubois.

Family and friends will gather for Visitation at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave., (Rte. 62) Wilmington on Thursday, August 5th from 5:00-7:00 p.m. immediately followed by a Funeral Service with Military Honors at 7:00 p.m.

Memorial donations in Bill’s memory may be made to Local Heroes, P.O. Box 536, Wilmington, MA 01887.
