DiPiero, Rose Marie

Rose Marie (Perron) DiPiero, age 64, of Wilmington, formerly of East Boston, passed away peacefully on January 5th after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in Chelsea on November 10,1946, she was the loving daughter of the late Henry and Lillian McDonagh of Brighton. Rose Marie was raised in Brighton and was educated there. She was the beloved wife of the late Ernest DiPiero, with whom she had two beautiful children. Rose Marie was a devoted and loving mother.

She had a very kind and caring way about her which led to her excelling as an aide at various nursing homes throughout her career, she knew how to make her patients feel loved. Rose Marie loved her job but was forced to retire when her illness progressed.

Rose Marie moved to Wilmington with her daughter and her family eleven years ago, always the dedicated grandmother, she was glad to help with the kids. She enjoyed being there for them when they got off to school and when they returned, she was happy to help with homework and prepare any special meals or snacks, in turn the children adored their grandmother she was more than that, she was their friend.

Rose Marie will be fondly remembered for her dedication to her family and for the kindness she always showed to others, she will be greatly missed.

Rose Marie was the devoted mother of Lorraine Amato and her husband John of Wilmington, Ernest DiPiero and his fiancé Liz Kanofsky of Revere, and the late Joseph Paul Borden of Revere, second mother to Raymond Borden of Winthrop. Rose’s life was dedicated to her grandchildren who meant the world to her, she was the adoring grandmother of Angelina, Michael, Christina, Brandon, and Daelan. Loving sister of Catherine Stehr and her husband Richard of New York, Mary Garbarino and her husband James of Rhode Island, and the late Joseph McDonagh of Brighton. Rose is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends gathered for a Funeral Service on Monday, January 10th at 11:00 a.m. in the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington. Interment followed in the family lot at Wildwood Cemetery in Wilmington.
