Lawrence I. “Larry” Pinto

Lawrence I. “Larry” Pinto, age 71, of Wilmington, passed away on June 15, 2016 at the E.N. Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital.

Larry was the cherished son of the late Milton and Muriel (Irving) Pinto. He was the beloved brother of Leslie Ward and her companion Garry Montgomery of North Reading. He was the dear uncle of Kristen Humber and her husband Christopher of North Reading and Marcia Gerrior and her husband Joseph of Stoneham. Larry was the great uncle of Christopher “CJ” Humber and Madison Gerrior. Larry is also survived by his dear friends Lenny, Debbie and Kevin Vail of Auburn, NH, Kevin Hall of Wilmington and Neil Woodside also of Wilmington.

Family and friends will gather for a funeral service at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rt 62) Wilmington, on Friday, June 24th, at 12:00 noon. Interment with military honors will be held in Wildwood Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, June 23rd, from 4-8 p.m. Memorial donations in Larry’s name can be made to the E.N. Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital Hospice Care, attn: Voluntary Services, 200 Springs Road, Bedford, MA 01730.

    Larry was a great guy and was very kind to me as a young kid. Very sad to hear of his passing. Several years ago I had the privilege of praying with him and for him during some difficult times. Great man.

    I’d known Larry since 4th grade, and he was always a super nice guy. There was nobody better at building engines, and yet I never saw him drive recklessly. Sorry to know he’s gone.

    Though I haven’t seen Larry for many years I have the fondest memories of Larry, Leslie and my brothers and me playing in his yard, usually pushing an old hot rod up his driveway so that we could jump on it to ride it back down the hill. He was a fun kid and a good man. My thoughts are with his family.
