Nancy (Budd) Kelley

April 6th, 2020

Nancy M. Kelley (Budd), age 75, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on April 3, 2020.

Nancy was born on March 26, 1945 in Cambridge, MA; she was the dear daughter of the late Malcolm and Aline Budd. Nancy’s family moved to Wilmington when she was a young girl; she attended Wilmington Public School and was a graduate of Wilmington High School with the Class of 1962.

In 1965, Nancy married “her sweetheart since the 8th grade” Arthur “Artie” Kelley. Nancy and Artie worked hard throughout their lives and raised three wonderful children. Nancy always showered her family with unconditional love and devotion. The family had lots of fun throughout the years; they went on many vacations, celebrated lots of holidays and special occasions together and made countless memories to be treasured. Nancy especially enjoyed doting on her grandchildren whom she adored.

Nancy and Artie had a great relationship and looked forward to the time they spent together; they enjoyed taking long rides along the coast and through the mountains in their convertible. Nancy was always up for whatever Artie wanted to do; he was truly the “love of her life”.
Nancy was very talented in many aspects; she was an AVID quilter, talented crafter who was always making something for someone, she had a “green thumb” when it came to gardening and she created beautiful flower gardens throughout her yard, she was an excellent bookkeeper for the family business and a wonderful homemaker.

Nancy will be fondly remembered as an amazing lady, very classy and had a huge heart. Nancy would go out of her way to help others and was always there for her family, friends and neighbors. Nancy will be forever in the hearts of those she loved.

Nancy was the beloved wife of Arthur T. Kelley, devoted mother of David Kelley & his wife Lori of Oxford, PA, Daniel Kelley & his girlfriend Tracy Flickinger of Kennebunk, ME and Lynn Kelley & her fiancé Scott Halliday of Wilmington. Loving Grammy of Adam and Sarah Kelley, cherished daughter of the late Malcolm and Aline (Dufresne) Budd, dear sister of the late Paul Budd and Kenny Budd. Nancy is survived by several brothers and sisters-in-law, many nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Nancy’s memory may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Due to the current situation with the Corona virus and for the safety of everyone, the Kelley family has decided to have a private service at this time.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Nichols Funeral Home, Wilmington, MA.
