Paul E. Surrette

Paul E. Surrette, age 87, a life-long Wilmington resident, passed away April 11th, 2021 at the Massachusetts General Hospital.  Paul was the beloved husband of Peggy L. (Loud) Surrette of Wilmington.  He was the loving father of Peter Surrette and his wife Jane of Woodinville , WA.  Paul was the cherished “Big Grampa” of Paul and AJ Surrette of Woodinville , WA.  Son of the late Walter and Beatrice (Suprenant) Surrette.  Paul is predeceased by his siblings; Walter, Joseph, Robert and Gladys Surrette.  He is also survived by his sister-in-law Joyce Loud of Andover, his special niece Karen (Surrette) Skavicus as well as many other nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington, for visitation on Wednesday, April14th, from 11:00-11:45 a.m. immediately followed by a funeral mass at St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington at 12:00 noon.  Interment to follow in Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.  Memorial donations in Paul’s name can be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, Attn: Office of Development, 2900 N. Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607.  Paul proudly served his country in the United States Army.

    Aunt Peggy,
    So sorry to hear about Uncle Paul. Both of you were in my daily prayers the last several months. Enjoyed the times we got together the last couple of years.Those of us left behind are saddened, but he is at peace and reunited with Aunt Gladys, and his brothers. You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers in the days ahead.

    I’m sadden to hear about the loss of Uncle Paul, the one thing I think about now is that he’s with his family in heaven , Auntie Peggy , Peter and all the family know I thinking of you and wishing you moments of peace and comfort during this sad time, I’ll alway remember Uncle Paul as I do all the family missing them dearly, may he RIP.     So sorry to hear of your loss of Paul. I often thought of you both and wondered how you were doing. My dad (Ed Higgins) and Paul worked together at the Atlantic Supermarket in North Reading for many years. I’m so very sorry.

    Peggy and Peter I am so very sorry for your loss. Paul was a great guy. I think of you often. Tell Paul to say hello to Kelley in Heaven she will be there with open arms. She passed away a year ago. She loved you guys. Peggy you and Paul were the best landlords I ever had. RIP Paul
