Victor A. Manni

Victor A. Manni, age 77, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully at home on December 7, 2018.

Victor was born on April 25, 1941 in Boston, MA; he was the dear son of the late Victor and Giaconda Manni. Victor was raised in a large and loving Italian family in the North End of Boston and attended Boston Schools.

On June 9, 1962, Victor married the “love of his life” Ruth Manning; the couple moved to Wilmington in 1963 where they raised their family. Victor was a very dedicated family man who cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. Victor took great pride in his home and yard; his yard, gardens and pool were meticulous. Throughout the years, Victor loved having his friends and family over for cookouts and pool parties; everyone always had a great time. Victor also enjoyed spending time at the family home in Fryeburg, Maine and he loved to travel all over the world with his wife, family and friends.

Prior to retiring, Victor, was employed as a Supervisor for the Columbia Meat Packing Company for many years. Victor worked hard throughout his career and made many life-long friends within the company.

In his spare time, Victor, enjoyed listening to music especially Frank Sinatra and Al Martino; he also enjoyed watching his favorite classic movies.

Victor will be remembered as a “great guy” who loved his family with all his heart and would do anything for them. He will forever be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Victor was the beloved husband of Ruth L. (Manning) Manni, devoted father of Dawn M. (Manni) Grasso & her husband Louis and Michael A. Manni all of Wilmington. Loving “Nonno” of Cassandra & Samantha Grasso and Violet Manni. Cherished son of the late Victor and Giaconda (Santurri) Manni, dear brother of Roland Manni & wife Joanne of CA, Henry Manni & wife Marie of Saugus, John Manni & wife Sandra of Tewksbury, Rose Rocca & husband John of Billerica, Rita Farrington & husband Hal of Lexington, Mary Naples of Medford, the late Luigi Manni and Clara DeCarlo. Victor is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather at the Nichols Funeral Home, 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington, on Tuesday, December 11th at 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas of Villanova Church, 126 Middlesex Ave., Wilmington at 10:00 a.m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. Visiting Hours will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, December 10th from 4:00-8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Victor’s memory may be made to the VNA of Middlesex-East/Sawtelle Family Hospice House, 320 Haverhill St., Reading, MA 01867.
