Winifred M. Aiesi, age 78, of Rye, NH, formerly of Wilmington, died on August 27, 2008, at home surrounded by her family.
Winifred was born on March 5 1930, in Cambridge, MA. She grew up in Canada and returned to the United States as a young woman. Winifred married Philip Aiesi in 1953 and they moved to Wilmington in 1957 residing there until 1974 when they moved to Andover. Winifred and Philip retired to Florida in 1989 until her illness brought them back to Rye, NH, a year ago to be closer to their family. Prior to retiring, Winifred was the hostess at Bishop’s Restaurant in Lawrence for many years. In her spare time Winifred’s hobbies included cooking and traveling.
Winifred is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years Philip Aiesi, she was the devoted mother of the late Wayne D. Aiesi, dear daughter of the late Albert & Sarah Nicholl and William F. & Winifred Ash, loving sister of Paul E. & Laurel Ash of Chelmsford, John W. & Betty Ash of North Chelmsford and the late William F. Ash, Jr. of Natick, Walter G. Ash and John L. Nicholl both of Florida, sister-in-law of Rose Sacramone of Everett, Winifred is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held at the Nichols Funeral Home, Inc., 187 Middlesex Ave. (Rte. 62), Wilmington on Tuesday, September 2nd from 5-8 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at Calvary Temple Assembly of God Church in Lynnfield, on Wednesday, September 3rd at 11:00 a.m. Interment Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington.
